I am a recent UBC Psychology graduate who is currently working part time as a School Age Worker at a Neighbourhood House. I have always been passionate about early child education and development and currently working towards connecting my future career to it. I strongly believe in clear communication with children, letting them explain their feelings and concerns and working together on any conflict resolution and, most importantly, having fun.. I hold a valid First Aid Child Care Certification and with my experience in childcare, I am familiar with any risk/danger protocols. Through my current position as a School Age Worker at Gordon Neighbourhood House, I learned how to create fun and safe programs that focus on education, arts and crafts, sports, environmental and cultural awareness. This experience made me familiar with safety and risk protocols in a child care environment, as well as learning about caring for children ages 5-10. Bachelor's Degree in Psychology. I hold valuable insight into family dynamics, emotional and social protection of children. I had an opportunity to gain extensive knowledge in behavioural, cultural, and social psychology of children.

I know how to be with kids in public places - it's really important that to be clean and do not get sick, and kids listened to me. I took care about boys very good, I helped a lot for this family. They had good healthy food, no junk no fast food. They were clean and good (warm in cold time) dressed. They had activities, play time with their friends. They had good fun time on PD days, school breaks, we had nice trips around the city, so much good things to do with kids.. When they were sick - I was big help for their mom. I did all best for these boys.. If I saw we something needed to buy from grocery store I went to do some shopping with boys they helped me. Oh.. they like my meat balls.. :) If Mom needed help with dinner because she was coming late or some meetings in the school or something else.. I helped a lot with dinners they like what I cooked.. I have Russian & Ukrainian recipes from my home country.. :) My family had housekeeper, I didn't have to do housekeeping - because I didn't have time, I was busy with kids, just take care about kids but I did what I needed - If I cooked and fed boys - cleaned after me in the kitchen, if I had time while boys playing I could do kids laundry, of course cleaning after kids and teached them clean up as well, if I saw the carpet needed vacuum cleaning - I did it because I wanted to do this not because they asked me, as light cleaning.. just I was doing what the best for kids.. Olga comes in every day with a smile and still has one on her face at the end of it which says a lot after a day with two crazy boys. She is energetic and takes initiative- as soon as she started she found a list of play centres, parks and other activities in both our neighbourhoods and keeps the boys busy with a good mix of indoor and outdoor fun. She also keeps them very well fed with three healthy meals a day and snack which she prepares. Its so nice to have someone we trust so much taking care of our little ones.   Dr. Valerie Athaide: November 3rd, 2019 To Whom It May Concern, We had the pleasure of having Olga Dovbak take care of our daughter Maddie beginning when she was five months old. Although Olga had never before cared for children under the age of one, she was a quick learner and was very careful to listen to and follow all of my instructions. Unfortunately our daughter Maddie had a feeding aversion to bottles when she was young, and I was initially worried about how her feedings would go with another person. Luckily, Olga was able to follow our instructions perfectly, and Maddie was able to take feeds from Olga with no issues. Olga was also heavily involved with transitioning Maddie from formula over to solids. We very much appreciated her help with both planning and preparing meals for Maddie. I trust Olga entirely with our daughter Maddie, and have been very grateful to have her look after Maddie for us. She is an energetic individual who always takes the initiative to make sure that Maddie gets out of the house so that she can get fresh air and interact with other kids. She plans well for these outings, always making sure Maddie is dressed appropriately for the weather, and that she will have enough food and snacks while on these outings. Olga is also very responsible in ensuring that Maddie naps when she needs to, in the appropriate environment. She is always careful to follow my instructions for feeding and naps, but is also able to pick up appropriately on Maddie’s cues and adjust the schedule when needed. Olga is very flexible with our needs in terms of scheduling, and is always punctual and reliable. She is also very helpful around the house, ensuring that Maddie’s toys are tidied away, and her dishes/bottles are cleaned. She often does Maddie’s laundry, and even takes the care and time to put it all away in the appropriate places. We couldn’t be happier with the care that Olga has provided for Maddie in the last four months. We have so enjoyed having her in our home and will miss her. I am happy to provide a telephone reference to give any additional information required. Thank you kindly, Dr. Valerie Athaide I have Bachelor's Degree of Medicine from my home country.

I am prepared to offer my services full time from Monday to Friday, during mornings to midday, as well as on Saturday mornings and evenings, and Sunday evenings and midday. Although I don't have a driver's license or a vehicle, I am open to travel within the job's extent. While a non-smoker, I am also an efficient swimmer which could provide added safety for your children during any water-based activities. I am also proficient in working with children with disabilities, showcasing my adaptability to different child care needs. I'm prepared to start immediately; however, I prefer a live-out arrangement. And while I truly adore children, I feel I can give my best care and undivided attention when I'm working with one child. Please note, due to my current location, I am not open to relocating. Looking forward to nurturing and caring for your children! Hello prospective families! I am an engaging 27 year old living in East Vancouver, I made the move back to BC after completing my undergraduate degree in Modern Languages and Cultural Studies. Since then I have worked with youth aged 5 - 17, first at the YMCA through the Youth Leadership development program, and most recently as a leader for a before and afterschool care program. I believe in play - both structured and unstructured, inviting kids and youth to explore the world around them, and creating a safe space for all! Some of my interests include: spending time in nature, playing games - such as spot it, sardines, uno and speed, crafting, and riding bikes! I look forward to getting to know your family, and am comfortable working with up to 3 children at a time. Critical to my childcare ethos is the idea of healthy bodies and healthy minds, open communication, and learning through experiences. I have about 11 years worth of experience with children. From Guide camps, babysitting as a youth, and caring for my nephews. I was a member of the Girl Guides of Canada for 10 years, where I assisted with aiding younger Guides in daily camp chores/ activities. In my later years as a Guide, I began creating culturally relevant camp recreations (the four main guiding centers around the world, Canada day, etc). Additionally, I volunteered to assist the Brownie leaders (Brownie age 7-8) with the weekly meetings and their activities (tag games, arts and crafts). In my youth, I worked as a babysitter for several families (not all of which are listed); two of which spoke English as a second language. The first job I held was looking after two Afrikaans children aged 1 and 3 years old. I was in charge of playing with them during the day, or working in the evenings putting them to bed. These children spoke no English, so I bridged the Language barrier through miming or puppets. The other bilingual family spoke French, they had three children ranging from infant, toddler and school aged. I looked after them for two years as needed. I was in charge of keeping them entertained, helping with bits of school work, making two healthy meals a day, and getting them to bed on time. All of the Children I have looked after through out the years have been of different ages and genders. Most recently, I cared for my two older nephews (7 and 10). I was responsible for making three healthy meals a day, keeping them active and entertained, and completing mid-level housework. Additional Experiences/Qualifications: Certified Food Safe and First Aid/ AED level C Completed by BA in Modern Languages and cultural studies at the University of Alberta.
