With nearly a decade dedicated to the childcare field, I can confidently assert that it has been not only deeply fulfilling but also a source of profound happiness for me. Between 2015 and 2018, I served as a preschool teacher at my family-owned daycare in Victoria, BC, specializing in the care of children aged 1-5. Subsequently, from 2018 to 2020, I expanded my horizons, working independently as a nanny and providing additional babysitting services to families across the greater Victoria area. Throughout my career, I've successfully collaborated with a diverse range of families, including nanny-shares, single-parent households, co-parenting situations, military families, parents working from home, shift workers, and stay-at-home parents. My inherently easy-going personality has consistently enabled me to seamlessly integrate my life into the unique dynamics of the families I've had the privilege to work with. Since 2020, my focus has shifted to pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Psychology. This educational endeavor has not only provided me with invaluable insights into early childhood development but, when coupled with my hands-on experience, has deepened my understanding of children's needs across various life stages, from infancy to adolescence. My childcare approach is influenced by Montessori teachings, encouraging the children under my care to explore the world at their own pace. The synergy of my extensive experience and educational background positions me as a capable professional adept at working with children facing diverse developmental challenges, including ADHD and autism.

As a childcare professional, I am committed to creating an environment that fosters learning and development through playful experiences. By drawing on principles from Montessori and gentle parenting approaches, I provide warm and firm guidance to support children's growth and curiosity. I believe that children should be given the opportunity to learn from their mistakes, without punishment, through personalized constructive feedback. My approach is informed by my own experiences and studies in child welfare, including my progress toward my Associate's degree in Social Sciences, majoring in Psychology from Langara College. With a range of experience working with children from newborns to 12 years old, I have encountered daily challenges in how to keep them engaged and stimulated. One strategy that has proven successful is to incorporate community events into our routine, such as library story times, park play, and grocery shopping, to encourage children to explore and interact with the world around them. By integrating daily chores and tasks into our activities, I also help children to understand the importance of routines and develop self-regulation skills. In addition, my love of animals has allowed me to share this passion with the children I work with, teaching them how to approach and interact safely with animals of all sizes. Above all, building trust and a sense of safety with the children in my care is paramount to me. If my employer requires me to utilize my personal vehicle for work-related purposes, I respectfully request that any agreement includes a provision for compensation to account for the added expense of gasoline. In addition, if the contract requires me to bear the cost of increased insurance premiums resulting from the use of my vehicle for work, I would request that my salary be adjusted accordingly. The precise salary adjustment would be contingent upon the number of hours assigned for work each month. Furthermore, please note that I have received the full course of COVID-19 vaccination.

I have taken measures to enhance my professional expertise in the field of childcare by pursuing relevant certifications. In early February 2017, I completed a Responsible Adult certificate course, which equipped me with the necessary skills and knowledge to provide competent care for children. Additionally, I have obtained Infant CPR Level 3 certification through Alert First Aid, demonstrating my commitment to ensuring the safety and well-being of children under my care. I believe that these qualifications, coupled with my passion for working with children, make me a suitable candidate for any role requiring responsible and attentive childcare
