Samira N.
I’m Samira, originally from France, and I’ve been living in Vancouver for the past seven years. With over 15 years of experience providing childcare, I have cared for children of all ages, from infants to teenagers, in both family and professional settings. My international background—having lived, worked, and traveled across different continents—has given me a deep appreciation for diverse cultures and perspectives, which I bring into the way I care for children. I strive to create a warm, safe, and engaging environment where children feel supported, inspired, and encouraged to grow. I enjoy helping with homework, organizing fun and educational activities, and fostering creativity and independence in every child I care for. Outside of childcare, I love hiking, exploring the arts, and reading. I also bring professional experience as an immigration settlement worker, provide background work for the television industry, and teach French remotely to federal government employees. I approach every role with patience, responsibility, and genuine enthusiasm, building meaningful connections with the children and families I work with.
I have extensive childcare experience as a live-in au pair and with family. In Abingdon, England (2007), I cared for a 13-year-old girl, taking her to school and activities and supporting her daily routine. In 2018, I cared for a 6-year-old boy and a 9-year-old child, managing mornings, school pick-ups, meals, and after-school activities. I have also cared for 9 nephews and nieces from infancy through adolescence, often up to 4 at a time during holidays, assisting with homework, extracurriculars, cooking, and teaching new skills. I aim to create a safe, supportive, and engaging environment, fostering independence, learning, and creativity while prioritizing children’s well-being and happiness.
