My name is Emiko. I was born and raised in Kawasaki, Japan, and I moved to Canada in April 2010. I am a warm, responsible, and experienced childcare provider who is passionate about supporting young children during their most important developmental years. I have over 15 years of experience as a nursery school teacher in Japan, as well as an additional 15 years working as a nanny and very grateful to have worked long-term with three families in Canada. I've cared for children ranging in age from newborns to eight years old, and I specialize in providing care for infants and toddlers. I also hold a Canadian Early Childhood Education (ECE) license. Working with children is something I am truly passionate about. I find great joy in watching them develop, grow and change. I fully understand how precious this stage in a child’s life is and how quickly it passes. I love spending time with children and assisting in their growth. The lessons they teach me are equally fulfilling. I am constantly in awe of their imagination and sense of wonder, and feel fortunate to be a part of their journeys. I believe that the most important aspects of matching a caregiver and a family are building a strong relationship, trust, and mutual respect. These factors greatly influence children and benefit them greatly. My number one priority is always the children. I make certain that they are well cared for, that appropriate boundaries are set, and that I am there to support them through all the ups and downs of each day. In my personal time, I enjoy the simple joys of life – good food (I consider enjoying food as one of my greatest talents :), cozy cafes, peaceful walks in nature, spending time with close friends, reading, and attending concerts of my favorite band! I will be traveling to Japan from early November to January, 2026, and will be available to start working from January 2026.
