Sabrina J.
I’m Sanaz (I also go by Sabrina!). I’m a warm, patient, and energetic caregiver with over 6 years of experience caring for children from newborns to teens. I genuinely love being around children, and families usually notice right away that I am very present, gentle, and engaged. My childcare style is playful, calm, and attentive. I love reading stories, making up games, building blanket forts, doing crafts, going outside, helping with homework, and turning everyday moments into something fun or meaningful. I pay close attention to each child’s personality, because some children need extra time to warm up, some need movement and silliness, and some need a quieter, more reassuring presence. One of the highlights of my week is volunteering at the Ravensong child immunization clinic, where I work with babies and young children in a clinical setting. I help with measurements and support children who may be nervous or upset. I’m also hoping to build a future in healthcare, so safety, trust, and gentle care are very important to me. I have a strong academic background as well. I was valedictorian in high school, study microbiology and oceanography at UBC Vancouver (currently on a gap year), and have been involved in tutoring, research, youth innovation, and science fair mentorship. I love helping children feel curious, capable, and proud of themselves, whether we are working on homework, reading, science, or creative projects. I also have a personal understanding of neurodivergence, which makes me especially thoughtful about sensory needs, transitions, routines, communication differences, and big feelings. I try to create an environment where children feel accepted, respected, and understood. Outside of childcare, I love books, art, museums, science, animals, and exploring Vancouver. I speak English and Persian fluently, and I know some ASL, French, Arabic, and Norwegian. I come from a close-knit family that values kindness, education, creativity, and responsibility, and those are the qualities I naturally bring into my work with children. I would love to be a steady, caring, and joyful presence in a family’s life, someone children feel excited to see and parents can feel completely comfortable trusting!

Ravensong child immunization clinic volunteer, current: Volunteer with babies and children up to age 6 in a clinical setting. Relevant childcare strengths: Experienced with babies, toddlers, preschoolers, school-aged children, and preteens. Comfortable with multiple children, sibling dynamics, routines, creative activities, homework help, sensory needs, neurodivergent children, and calm support during transitions or big feelings.
