My name is Piper, and I'm a 34 year old Vancouver born and raised entrepreneur! ** I am looking for occasional/casual child care work, as I also run a small business ** EXPERIENCE: I have thousands of hours worth of hands-on experience working with children in both personal and professional settings. As a childcare provider, I’ve supported multiple families with a wide range of needs—caring for children of all ages and creating nurturing, structured environments for them to thrive in. My responsibilities have included school pickups, preparing healthy meals, assisting with homework (including French language support), and planning engaging activities tailored to each child’s interests. In addition to one-on-one care, I have also worked as the lead Behavioural Interventionist (BI) for children with autism, using Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) based strategies to promote emotional regulation, communication, and independent living skills. I managed several small teams of BIs, coordinated schedules, and maintained ongoing communication with families and support professionals to ensure each child received consistent and personalized care. My approach is warm, attentive, and creative, with a strong focus on helping children feel safe, supported, and encouraged as they grow. HOME LIFE: I live in an apartment beside Emily Carr University that I share with my partner of 13 years (he runs skateboard/BMX lessons for kids) and our two pets (cat & elderly dog)! I work from home every day fulfilling orders and creating new products for my business, and I create my own schedule, so my hours are very flexible! I have my own vehicle, and have had my drivers license since I was 16. I am a very safe driver, I have no driving tickets and have actually never even been pulled over! However, my car only has 4 seats and is a "coupe" (only 2 doors), but I am very comfortable driving all manner of vehicles if this is an issue. HOBBIES: I love love love reading, I read around 40-60 books in 1 year! I also love playing video games, and have a very diverse taste in the games I play, which I find to be a point of connection with a lot of children!
