Kierra T.
I am a Dental Hygiene student at the University of British Columbia with years of hands-on childcare experience. I’m responsible, caring, and dependable, and I genuinely love working with children of all ages. When I graduate, I hope to work with kids in a healthcare setting. I lead a healthy, active lifestyle and enjoy running, baking, and spending time outdoors. I bring energy and enthusiasm into childcare and always look for fun, creative ways to keep kids engaged and happy. Families have described me as warm, organized, and a natural with children. I take pride in creating a safe and supportive environment, and whether I’m helping with homework, playing games, or managing daily routines, I always show up with patience, empathy, and a positive attitude.
I’ve been caring for children since I was 13, and over the years, it’s become something I genuinely love and take pride in. I have experience with a wide range of ages, and my focus has always been creating a safe, nurturing, and fun environment that supports each child’s unique personality and needs. Long-Term Family – 3 Years Cared for children aged 13 months, 3, and 6 In this role, I looked after three siblings with very different needs and routines. My responsibilities included changing diapers, preparing meals and snacks, cleaning up, helping with homework, and managing naps and bedtime. It was a hands-on, full-scope role that taught me how to balance care across multiple age groups with patience and flexibility. Long-Term Family – 4 Years Cared for children aged 3 and 5 I provided regular care during after-school hours and weekends. I kept the kids entertained with crafts, outdoor play, prepared simple meals and supported their routines Weekly Care – 1 Year Cared for one 4-year-old child In addition to these regular roles, I’ve also had several long-term, part-time babysitting jobs with other families. While less frequent, I always made it a priority to build trust and provide dependable, caring support. These experiences have helped me develop strong communication skills with both kids and parents, and the ability to adapt to each child’s unique personality and needs.
I am currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Dental Hygiene at the University of British Columbia.
