Koila S.
I am looking for a babysitting job where I can support children Monday-Thursday. I currently work as a Youth Worker at a homeless shelter. I do 12 hour shifts Friday-Sunday, so I am unavailable on these days. I am extremely passionate about supporting youth using a strength-based and trauma-informed approach. I have experience supporting youth with mental health challenges, drug/alcohol abuse, and behaviour management issues. I aim to help youth identify and actualize their goals and support independence. I genuinely love spending time with my youth at this job, and would love to support youth in a more intimate one-on-one capacity! I have an Honours degree in Psychology from the University of Winnipeg. During my time as a student, I was a Teaching Assistant, Research Assistant, Tutor and Student Success Coach. I loved learning about Psychology, specifically how individuals can optimimze their own health and wellness. I enjoyed learning the 'hacks' of health and wellness, many of which can be applied when working with children. (I enjoy the fun and playful interactions that can be fostered with children - I do not implement a 'clinical' mentality when interacting and supporting my youth 24/7!!) I have First Aid and CPR training. I am looking forward to supporting your family!!
I have been babysitting casually for about 10 years. I currently work as a Youth Worker at a homeless shelter with youth with complex needs, drug and alcohol use and mental health challenges. I use a trauma-informed and strength-based approach with my youth.
