Melisa A.
I am a 24-year-old from Colombia, and I started my MBA program this fall in Vancouver. I’m looking for a side job while pursuing my studies. My favorite activities include reading, traveling, hiking, and spending time outdoors. I have a deep love for nature and enjoy exploring new places. I am a loving person with a lot of patience, always taking the time to understand and connect with the children I care for. I am a person with initiative and always strive to help others as much as I can. I have had wonderful experiences with the families I’ve worked with in the past, and we still keep in touch, which speaks to the strong relationships I build. I am responsible, dependable, and have a CPR certification, ensuring the safety and well-being of the children I care for.
I have a diverse range of experience caring for children in various settings. I worked as a kindergarten assistant, where I helped manage classroom activities and supported the children’s learning and development. Additionally, I spent two years as an Au pair, living with a host family and providing full-time childcare. This experience allowed me to deeply understand the day-to-day needs of children and how to create a nurturing and supportive environment for them. I also participated in a voluntary program where I taught children basic English. This role not only improved my teaching skills but also reinforced the importance of patience and creativity in engaging young learners. Lastly, as an aunt of five, I have had plenty of hands-on experience caring for my nieces and nephews. This personal experience has been incredibly rewarding and has given me a deeper understanding of child development and family dynamics.
