Kathia L.
As a caregiver, I know how important it is for parents to feel confident and at ease knowing their children are loved, safe, and supported. I have studied Live-in Caregiving in Vancouver and hold certifications in First Aid and CPR, Montessori Teaching Methodology, and Nutritious Child Food Preparation. These skills, combined with my hands-on experience, allow me to provide the best care possible for your little ones. Children inspire me every day, and I take pride in creating a warm, engaging, and structured environment where they can explore, learn, and grow. From outdoor adventures to educational activities, I focus on nurturing their independence, curiosity, and happiness. Families have described me as reliable, loving, and patient. My goal is to not only be a caring presence for your child but also to give you peace of mind, knowing that they’re in the best hands. I’d love to meet your family and see how I can help make your life easier while helping your child flourish!
From a young age, I have taken on caregiving responsibilities, starting with looking after my younger cousins. At the age of 16, I began working as a part-time nanny during weekends, an experience I have carried out both in Mexico and Spain. In Spain, I had the opportunity to work as an au pair for a family, caring for a girl from 6 months to 3 years old. My experience in Vancouver includes caring for two families. In one, I looked after two children, a 2-year-old girl and a 4-year-old boy. In the other family, I cared for 6-year-old twins. Additionally, I have experience caring for my cousin with autism since he was a baby, providing support whenever my aunt needed to work. My approach to childcare is rooted in the Piagetian method for learning. This method, developed by Swiss psychologist Jean Piaget, emphasizes the importance of tailoring education to the child's cognitive development stages. By applying this approach, I ensure to create a stimulating and challenging environment that promotes the child's cognitive, emotional, and social development, enabling them to learn in a meaningful and autonomous way. Furthermore, I hold essential certifications, including first aid, food handling, and an up-to-date criminal record check. I am available from 7 am to 4 pm on weekdays, with flexibility on weekends.
