My name is Susy. I have 25 years of experience looking after children in various child care settings. My experience is wide and varied, including working with infants, toddlers, pre-schoolers, twins and children with special needs. I moved back to Toronto back in February of 2019 after 14 years of living in London, UK where I worked as a Nanny. Previous to that, I worked here in Toronto as an Early Childhood Educator for 6 years. I was also a Drama Instructor for several years at an after school setting. I am currently looking for a nanny position that will allow me to work 4-5 days a week. I am seeking a sole charge position, looking after children 10 months and up. I have my first aid and CPR certification up to date, recent criminal record check and am covid vaccinated. As a Nanny I consider myself to be fun, firm and creative. I am a good cook and strongly believe in a healthy diet. I always have a good routine in place which is flexible and fluid to allow for all eventualities and the growth of the child. I try to keep my working days varied and fun with enough time in the home to allow the child to feel comfortable and settled. I am proud of my ability to 'read' children and get the best behaviour out of them. Children in my care are always happy and settled with few, if any, tantrums. I believe this is because of my consistency and approach to discipline and the predictability of my behaviour, ie children know what to expect of me and what behaviours are acceptable which allows them to relax and get on with what's important - being a child. I love to sing and dance and encourage my children to join me in this. I may not be the best singer but the children don't seem to mind! This often leads to much hilarity and spontaneous discos. I also do a lot of activities such as reading, imaginary play, baking and arts and crafts to name a few. I also enjoy the outdoors and engage the children in active play. I hope to find a Nanny family where we can work together as a team in helping dedicate to shape your child/children into confident, intelligent and happy people who will carry those traits on into adulthood.
