Cera C.
My name is Cera and I'm excited that you found my profile! I am a young professional working in Toronto who absolutely loves to work with children. I have been babysitting for families of all shapes and sizes since 2010 and hope that I can be of help to your family as well! I currently work remotely for the University of Calgary researching the mental health of long-term care workers and have been a long-term care worker myself. When I'm not working I love to go rock climbing, hiking, or to ride my bike along the waterfront.
I have looked after all age groups of children and was the occupational aide for a year for a little boy on the autism spectrum. As a practicum student completing my Bachelor of Community Rehabilitation, specializing in Disability Studies, I worked for four months in a classroom for young adults aged 12 to 18 who had limited speech and mobility; my favourite activity with them was reading books and building their skills communicating with their assistive devices.
I have a Bachelor and Master of Arts in Political Science and a Bachelor of Community Rehabilitation and Disability Studies from the University of Calgary and University of Toronto. With my BCR I completed four hands on practicums; a total of 300 hours of experience with various populations from school aged children to seniors.
