Ashley K.
I am a university student majoring in animal biology. I enjoy working with children, helping them to learn, grow, and explore their interests in a positive and supportive environment. In my free time, I love to grow plants, arts and crafts, and baking sweet treats. I find these hobbies especially rewarding because they allow me to be creative, patient, and that engaging quality needed when working with children. I am a reliable, caring, and enthusiastic individual who enjoys creating meaningful connections with children and helping them have fun while learning and staying safe.
I have approximately two years of childcare experience through volunteer positions working with children and youth. One of these experiences was through cadets, where I helped plan lessons and instruct youth between the ages of 12 and 14. This role allowed me to develop skills in leadership, communication, supervision, and working with groups of young people. My other experience was at an arts summer camp, where I worked with children ranging from 5 to 12 years old. I assisted with arts and crafts activities, helped supervise campers, and supported them throughout daily programs and activities. Through these experiences, I have gained valuable skills in working with children of different ages, maintaining a positive environment, and ensuring that children remain engaged, safe, and supported.
