Leanna B.
I’m a friendly, outgoing and reliable caregiver, born and raised in Toronto. I recently returned home after living abroad in Ireland for two years and am currently looking for part-time childcare work alongside my career in marketing. I’ve been around children for many years in both volunteer and paid roles. In high school, I volunteered in my community running “Fun Friday” activities where I supervised outings (like swimming and trips to Centre Island) and led fun, age-appropriate activities such as sports, crafts, colouring and simple science experiments. I also helped at a weekly tutoring night, supporting children with homework and reading. I later worked part-time for several years at a Montessori school in their after-school program, supervising children, helping with snacks, playing games and making sure they were safe and engaged until pickup. I’ve also done a lot of babysitting over the years, including two summers caring full-time for twin 7-year-olds and their 4-year-old brother. Most recently, I’ve been helping my best friend with her 5-year-old and 7-month-old; I’m trusted to watch the baby independently, do school pickups, prepare meals, manage bedtime routines and handle general day-to-day care. Most recently I worked at a music school where I interacted with children and parents every day, occasionally supervising kids in the office if parents were running late and sitting in on lessons to help oversee the group. I’m single, very family-oriented, and genuinely enjoy spending time with kids of all ages. In my free time I love crocheting, doing paint-by-numbers, walking dogs (I also work on Rover), and spending time outdoors. I’m known for being warm, patient, and dependable, and I aim to create a safe, fun and structured environment where children feel comfortable and cared for.
I’ve had experience caring for and working with children in both formal and informal settings over several years. When I was in high school, I volunteered regularly in my community running “Fun Friday” activities for children. This included organizing and supervising day trips (such as swimming at the local pool and outings to Centre Island), as well as leading activities like sports, simple science experiments, arts and crafts, and games. I also volunteered at a weekly tutoring night where I helped children with their homework and reading. I later worked part-time for several years at a Montessori school in their after-school program. In this role, I supervised children after school, played games with them, helped with snacks, and ensured they were safe and engaged until their parents arrived. In addition to this, I’ve babysat for many families over the years. Most recently, I regularly helped my best friend with her 5-year-old and 7-month-old. She trusted me to care for the baby independently, pick up her older child from school, prepare meals, manage bedtime routines, and generally look after both children. I also spent two summers babysitting twin 7-year-olds and their 4-year-old brother full-time during the day. Most recently, while working at a music school, I interacted with children and parents daily. Although it wasn’t a babysitting role, I often supervised children in the office when parents were running late and occasionally sat in on classes to help oversee the group. Overall, I’m very comfortable with children of different ages, from infants to school-aged kids, and I genuinely enjoy creating a safe, fun, and structured environment for them.
