I currently am in my final 4th year of Bioveterinary Science with a minor in Equine science at Dalhousie University Agricultural Campus in Truro, Nova Scotia. I have become very involved in my school community striving to make connections with my peers and faculty. My first year living in residence I was my houses secretary and then president my second year. Now I am president for all off campus students, collaborating with the residence houses to create fun social events. The last three years I have been an Orientation leader, welcoming first year students and encouraging them to step out of their comfort zone. I am originally from Toronto and live there during the summer and winter breaks. I am now very interested in pursuing a career in teaching. I will be continuing my schooling to obtain a Bachelor in Education starting September 2026. I have many different hobbies which including hiking, playing guitar, crocheting and reading. On my free time I also enjoy spending time with my friends and family, exploring new areas and fun activities wherever I am.
I have experience with many different childcare positions. Currently I hold a valid First Aid Certification from Canadian Red Cross which I bring forward into my childcare positions. Since 2021, I have worked as a camp counsellor at the Learn to Ride horse camp working with children ages 5-12. This position included surveilling over 12+ children at a time while also maintaining a safe and interactive teaching environment. More recently (as of 2023), I was promoted to Camp director, which included leadership tasks such as overseeing scheduling, staff, volunteers as well as the 48 campers. Along with this experience, I also taught children how to skate and play hockey from 2021-2022. This was a very rewarding position. Additionally, from my adolescence ongoing, I have been babysitting for a variety of different households, accommodating to a variety of unique parenting styles. All of these experiences have taught me skills to connect with children and ensure their needs are met, with safety being my main priority.
