Kels T.
I’m a recent Bachelor of Social Work graduate with a deep passion for working with children. My long-term goal is to become a social worker supporting children and youth through empowering, trauma-informed care. I genuinely love spending time with kids—watching them grow, learn, and feel safe being themselves. I bring patience, empathy, and creativity into every interaction, and I strive to meet each child where they’re at. Whether through play, conversation, or structured activities, I find joy in helping children feel seen, supported, and valued.
I worked as a Child and Youth Programmer at a women’s shelter, supporting children with a wide range of needs and abilities. I have experience working with kids from infancy to age 21, including children on the autism spectrum, those with learning disabilities, and youth with behavioral concerns. At times, I independently supervised and engaged up to 15 children at once. My role involved planning and facilitating age-appropriate activities tailored to developmental stages, individual learning goals, and emotional needs. I’m confident in adapting care to each child’s unique personality and strengths while creating a safe, nurturing environment for growth and connection.
