Greetings! My name is Khadijah, but you can also call me DJ. I'm a vibrant 22-year-old woman, originally from Jamaica, currently residing in York. I moved to Canada when I was 15. I am a law and society student at York University, enriching myself academically. I am an individual who is comfortable around water and able to swim well. I also hold a driver's license. While I don't own a vehicle for work purposes, I am perfectly comfortable and capable of traveling when necessary. Despite being a full-time student, my academic schedule allows me to serve as a nanny full-time or part-time throughout the week, from morning till night. My services are not limited to basic child care; I am more than willing to assist with cooking, light housekeeping, preparing meals for children, doing laundry, assisting with homework, and keeping the kitchen tidy. I have a knack for connecting with children of various age groups, namely children over 10 years old, as well as those aged 3-5 and 6-9 years. However, I am comfortable working with up to three children at a time. Though I am yet to obtain professional childcare experience, my life at home, living with my siblings and assisting my mother with various household duties, has given me a practical understanding of children's needs and behavior. Plus, I am comfortable working with children with disabilities. Although I currently live with my family, I am open to both live-in and live-out arrangements, depending upon the needs of the family. I also have first aid training and am willing to obtain a police check for reassurance. Outside of my work and studies, I have a variety of hobbies — everything from cooking to singing, from dancing to reading, and even dabbling in hair styling. I also enjoy spending time outside, watching television, and making TikTok videos. My ease in fluency with both English and Patois can give your children a unique exposure to a different culture. In essence, I am hoping to find a position as a nanny, tutor, babysitter, or housekeeper. Let me bring my energetic, loving, and warm presence into your home to care for your children. I have previous experience as a TDSB camp counsellor where I had to plan activities for children and cater to them whilst at camp. I am also an aunt to 2 girls under 5 whereas I am one of the trusted babysitters. I have 3 siblings, 2 of which are younger and so I am often left to supervise them. Though I do not have experience as a nanny, I do have a lot of experience with children and family. I am also a hard worker and willing to learn new things. I consider myself responsible, very patient and fun and would be a great addition to your family.
