My name is Yuka, and I’m a nanny and postpartum doula originally from Japan. I worked as a registered nurse in a hospital in Japan for 5 years, and I’ve been working as a nanny in Canada since 2023. I’m currently completing my certification with DONA International as a postpartum doula. I also hold a Lactation Education Counselor (LEC) certification and have been studying newborn sleep and lactation support. I’m gaining hands-on experience through overnight doula shifts with newborns, and every day is a learning opportunity. As a nanny, I’ve cared for children from newborns to 7 years old. My responsibilities have included school and daycare drop-offs/pickups, as well as teaching Japanese. I truly enjoy spending time with children, but more than anything, I value building a strong relationship with the whole family. I’ve even traveled with former clients on family trips! My hourly rate is currently $25, but it may vary depending on the child’s age, time of day, and the level of lactation or sleep support required.
