Rowan L.
I am a friendly, responsible, and attentive caregiver who values creating a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment for everyone. I respect people of all cultural backgrounds, sexualities, genders, and abilities. I have volunteered at the Carleton Disability Awareness Center and also have lived experience with a disability, which has helped me develop strong empathy, patience, and understanding when supporting others. I enjoy building positive relationships and helping create environments where people feel comfortable, supported, and heard. I live with two roommates and our four cats, and I love spending time with animals, playing games, and problem-solving together to maintain a healthy and cooperative home environment. I am detail-oriented, outgoing, and reliable. I love dance and staying active, and I enjoy bringing that energy into activities with children through creative play, movement, and games. My goal is always to create a positive, engaging, and supportive environment where children feel safe, respected, and encouraged to explore and learn.
Since 2017 I have worked with children in teaching and supervisory roles, including as a dance teacher and supervisor, a Montessori summer teacher, and a supply teacher/educational assistant. These roles involved supervising children, maintaining a safe environment, leading activities, supporting behavioral and learning needs, and communicating with parents.
