I spent most of my adult life working as a Florist in the areas of floral arrangements/decorations, gift baskets for special occasions, assisting bridal parties with wedding preparations, decorate birthday parties/banquet halls/weddings etc. However, my passion was always to work with the vulnerable population especially in the areas of caregiving and disability. I would also like to mention that I spent most of my life as a single mother caring for my children's needs (cooking, cleaning, laundry, grocery shopping and taking care of the general household). When my mom got older she had early onset Dementia which I was her primary caregiver while she lived with me. I helped to feed, clothe, bathe, give medication, take her to her medical appointments among other duties. In the last 6 years I have worked as an Office Attendant at a MRI office interacting with patients, helping them prep for their scans as well as offer them coffee/tea while they waited. My role also included keeping the kitchen, bathroom, office among other common areas, clean and tidy. I also volunteered at my church for over 20 years in the hospitality ministry where I helped to clean and replenish supplies in the bathrooms, sweep the sanctuary and kept tidy the common areas of the church. In addition, I assisted in the kitchen with clean up, meal preparations and serve those who are less fortunate on a weekly basis. I also assisted with mentoring the youth and children who were a part of the summer camp programs and shared with them life skills necessary for their growth and development.
