Rachel D.
My name is Rachel, a vivacious 18-year-old from St. Thomas, who is passionate about nurturing young lives. I am currently on my gap year, a period intentionally set aside for personal development before I head off for an Early Childhood Education (ECE) program as part of my career move. My ECE program isn't just about acquiring higher learning; it is my stepping stone to actualizing my fervent passion for early childhood education. I come with four solid years of hands-on experience caring for children, ranging from newborns right through to those well above ten years. Over this period, I've honed my skills in comprehensive childcare provision, which includes tasks such as cooking, light housekeeping, grocery shopping, meal preparation for kids, laundry services, homework assistance, adherence to special dietary rules, kitchen maintenance and pet care. While I prefer a Live-Out arrangement, I am flexible and can adapt to suit the specific needs of your family. Whether you need Full-Time or Part-Time assistance, I am available any day of the week, during mornings, mid-day, evenings, and nights, to provide the care that your family needs. My educational background couples well with my experience, including First Aid Training, CPR Training, Certified Nanny Training, and completion of College Child Education Courses. I am comfortable with the responsibility of looking after three children at a time, and am ready to start immediately as a nanny or babysitter. While I am unable to work with children who have disabilities, I am nonetheless patient, adaptable, and empathetic - qualities that shine through while interacting with kids. As I navigate this pivotal phase in my life, my commitment remains unwavering: to provide children with a safe, loving, and enriching environment to thrive in. I look forward to getting to know your family and working together to ensure that your children receive the best care possible.
I have babysat for several families with multiple children, ranging from the ages 3 months - 10 years. Recently I have completed my first CO-OP placement at an Early Learning Centre, some of my responsibilities included helping children with daily tasks as well as organizing and planning activities weekly. Another responsibility I had while completing my placement was keeping the environment clean and sanitary. Currently I am taking a gap year, but will be going back to College to complete my ECE (Early Childhood Education) program.
