I come from a friendly family of 5 with 2 younger sisters who I love with everything in me. I am currently a biology student at the University of Manitoba and am aiming to finish a masters degree in occupational therapy! I love ice skating, snowboarding and music (I can't pick a favourite genre) as well as reading. I am always excited to meet new people and love a good conversation! I have worked 2 years as a Program Planner for Winnipeg's drop in program for children ages 6-17 years. This position included watching more than 10 kids at a time, responsible for 4 children during field trips, managing problem behaviours and confrontations between children and completing various activities with many children. Teaching a cooking/baking class for children ages 6-8 years and assisting a cooking class for ages 9-12 have let me experience how to give instruction and get kids excited for different activities, as well as show them how to share and take turns. I also have an extensive background in babysitting as a young child/teen myself. Big sister of the neighborhood and my own younger siblings was what you could call my role. Volunteering has provided me with experience as well. 3 months doing activities with children in Cancer Care's children play room between their chemo treatments and volunteering at a summer camp, motivating friendly activities and managing behaviour with 10+ children for 4 months.

I have always enjoyed spending time with children I have four younger siblings myself I love spending time outside aswell as baking and cooking I have been babysitting since I was 14 years old and am currently a child care assistant with children ages 9 months-6 years old I plan activity’s everyday for the children (fine motors, sensory play and arts and crafts). I am a really active, friendly, and fun person! I like to go out and do activities such as any sports, going to concerts or games, shopping, really anything! I also like to hang out and read a book or watch Netflix! I have a really great work ethic and work hard, am reliable, trustworthy, kind, and can take any feedback! I have always had a love for kids and have wanted to become a teacher since as young as I can remember. In the past, I have taught gymnastics from ages 3-8, worked as a summer camp counselor at the YMCA, worked in my high school's nursery school, and volunteered for the Boys & Girls Club of Winnipeg. I have also done 3 years of practicum within the school system for grades 1, 4/5, and 5. I worked in a Montessori daycare for 2 years and have experience with ages 10 months - 5 years. I was specifically in charge of the infants (10 months-1.5) and the 2 years olds for a time. This past summer I was in Alberta for 4 months aupairing for a family with 2 little girls and loved it! I took care of them throughout the day and did bedtime routine as needed. I cooked for them, did fun activities, and handled nap times.
