More about me? I am very driven by creativity, and by nature, I would describe myself as gentle and kind. What do I do for fun? I like to record music, rock climb, crochet (I sell beanies), paint, make jewelry, do photography, and generally spend as much time outdoors as I can! A little about my experiences: I am in my third year of music at the University of Victoria. I work part time as a music teacher, teaching ages 5+ piano, guitar, voice, and ukulele! In the summer I work as a kayak guide/ kayak instructor teaching rescue clinics or leading tours for 8+ hours a day. I also work as a server in a restaurant. I feel my wide range of experiences in these jobs has given me a great combination of skills from entertainment, first aid, working with kids, and working under pressure when needed.

I am a British nanny and babysitter who moved to the island in 2023 with my husband and three children, aged 15, 11 and 5. I have been working in childcare since 2013 and started my own business, Jane's Sitting Service in 2015 and again in 2023 when we emigrated to the island. I have lots of experience with children of all ages, including working with many neurodivergent families, from autism and adhd to global development delay and sensory processing disorder. My own children are also neurodivergent, so the experience continues within my home too. As a caregiver, I absolutely love what I do... the best thing about working with children is that every day is different and you get to see the world through their eyes, which is pretty unique, sometimes a little crazy but always lots of fun. As a nanny, I am very outgoing, have lots of energy and I love to be out and about exploring. I am kind, caring, trustworthy and patient. I try to adjust to each families individual needs and understand that all children are unique and as a care giver, you need to be adaptable. I also focus on providing a safe and nurturing environment with my business moto of 'play, learn and grow together'. As a mum of three, I understand how busy and overwhelming life can feel, juggling childcare, a job, a house and everything else that goes with the day to day tasks of being a parent, and I would love to be that extra pair of hands to support that routine and make some of those day to tasks more manageable. If your family is in need of a nanny, babysitter or mothers help, and you feel i may be a good fit for you, please do reach out or add yourself to my page and we can chat further. I have availability Monday to Friday and try to be as flexible as possible, with my ideal hours being 9-2 (although i am happy to offer longer hours if I am able to collect my daughter from school and bring her to work with me, but I appreciate this isn't for everyone). I am looking for a minimum of 10 hours per week, but have availability for up to 25+ hours as a nanny/nanny share role or mothers help. I am also ideally looking for work in the Langford, Colwood, Royal bay area but have my own vehicle so am happy to commute for the right family. I am first aid and CPR trained (renewal 31st March 2027) and am willing to get a criminal record check should this be required. I have a level 3 qualification from the the uk in working with children and young people, which is similar to an ECE here and past experience of working in a daycare setting, before starting my own business. I also volunteer as a soccer coach at Gorge, working with the under 6s and can provide lots of references. Worked as a nanny and babysitter for the last 10 plus years

I've worked in a multitude of daycares and preschools. Originally, I wanted to study become a pediatric nurse, but chose to pursue the ECE program at Camosun College. I love art and crafting, being outside in nature, reading, writing, and volunteering. I've worked for the past five years as an Early Childhood Educator Assistant in preschools and daycares, and have also done some babysitting. I've worked mostly in the Victoria area and on Salt Spring Island. I've cared for children ages 3-5, and have had some infant and toddler experience. I love children and dogs. If you would like me to do dog walking as well, I'm happy to do so! I'm also available to do light housekeeping work.

I'm Melody, a 33-year-old Victoria-based nanny with two years of professional childcare experience, and an emphasis on health and balance. Additionally, as a yoga therapist, wellness instructor, and dual language English/Spanish translator, I bring a unique skill set to the job. I am a warm, caring, and responsible nanny with a strong background in early childhood education and experience as a mother. I believe in creating a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment where children can grow, learn, and feel supported. With my passion for child development, I enjoy guiding children through play, exploration, and creative activities that help them build confidence and curiosity. In my free time, I enjoy walking, biking, and crafting, and I love sharing these hobbies with children to encourage active and imaginative play. I am also happy to assist with household chores, helping families maintain a comfortable and organized home. Families and colleagues describe me as reliable, patient, and dedicated, with excellent communication skills and a genuine love for working with children. My name is Flora. I am from Taiwan. I can speak English and Mandarin. Also, I am a licensed Early Childhood Educator (ECE) teacher. I’m currently caring for a one-year-old boy, and I have been with him for about six months. My responsibilities include providing care, supporting his routines, preparing meals, engaging him in age-appropriate play, and encouraging his development through interactive and nurturing activities. Before coming to Canada, I worked as an after-school teacher in Taiwan for over 15 years, caring for and teaching children between the ages of 3 to 12. I designed engaging lessons, supported their learning and social-emotional development, and created a positive, safe, and encouraging environment. In addition, I can assist with light housekeeping tasks related to the children, such as tidying up play areas, cleaning up after meals, and organizing children’s items. I would be happy to become a part of your family and use my experience and skills to care for your child and support your family’s needs. Please feel free to message me if you're interested.

My name is Mary and I just graduated with a BSc in Psychology and Sustainability from Dalhousie University. I love working with children and have many years of experience. I have had many different nannying jobs with children ranging from newborn to 10 years old. I have also worked as a Early Childhood Education Assistant and an Inclusion Support Worker at Oak Bay Recreation for the past 3 summers. I am outgoing, energetic, and love being around people. I also have 1 year of experience working in a kitchen and know how to prepare healthy meals. I can provide great references as well as a police check. I have completed my Emergency CPR and First Aid as well. I would love to get to know you and your family and feel as though I would be a great candidate. I babysat for a family of three boys for about 6 years. When I started the eldest was 2 and he was the only child. A year later his brother was born and 3 years after that the youngest was born. I looked after them until I moved and the eldest boy was 8. I babysat for them about 2 or 3 days a week and more on my summers. I also would go on vacation with the family such as camping trips and trips to the fair, beach, etc. I would also help take the boys to the doctor or dentist when needed. In grade 12, I took a course at the College called Introduction to Early Childhood Education and loved it. I learned all about creative fun games for children and about the psychology behind it. I learned about children from each age group and their needs. It was incredibly informative. I have had two amazing summer jobs the past two years working with children. I worked as an Early Childhood Education Assistant at The North Grove in Dartmouth. Here I developed programming for the morning camps we held as well as holding family playgroups and childcare a few times a week. The second was an Inclusion Support Worker for Oak Bay Recreation in Victoria. Here I worked as an Inclusion Support Worker at summer camps and worked one on one with kiddos who had diverse needs. I also have experience working with children with disabilities. In high school I took 2 courses working with kids in Room 135. They were my favourite classes in all of my 4 years of high school. I also was in a club called Lunch Buddies where we would partner up with one of the students and each lunch with them one of the days of the week. As well, I volunteered with a program called Community Living, where I was a helper for a special needs bowling league. From those experience I got a job this past summer as an Inclusion Support Worker.
