Active Jobseeker
I'm Megan, a 36-year-old female, living in central Richmond. I grew up in North Delta and have always loved living here in BC. Growing up as a figure skater I began working with other kids at the age of 12, and continued to teach both kids & adults how to skate throughout my teens. That truly was the start of my enjoyment being around kids. While I learned to live with some health problems into adulthood, I leaned on babysitting/childcare to earn money while I wasn’t able to work a “regular” job. My experience in childcare is mainly based in the many many hours of time spent with various kids throughout my life. In 2022, I branched into nanny position, caring for a 3-month-old baby in Squamish, four days a week. In 2023, my time with him grew to include caring for a neighbors' son of the same age together ( more details on that under job experience). I especially enjoy working with infants and babies, with the guidance and knowledge shared by my mother, who has over 35 years of experience in specialized developmental care for infants and children. I have learned many things from her that have guided me in my time with babies & children, helping me become confident in providing safe and nurturing care for the young. I know without professional training & just my word alone not all will be comfortable but I am also happy to provide references. Although I don't drive, I get around comfortably by using public transit and/or bike. I’m also comfortable using transit with stroller-bound children, and love exploring parks and city spots with them. In my spare time, I love exploring new places with my partner, and while he’s a gamer, I enjoy crocheting, a self-taught hobby I've practiced and sold for over 15 years. Despite lacking professional qualifications, I've accumulated substantial hands-on experience and prioritize each family's guidelines and needs while caring for their child. I hope my transparency won't discourage you from considering me, and I would be happy to answer any questions you may have. My professional work setting experience began in 2022, beginning with a 3mo old baby. I truly enjoyed my time caring for this young boy and helping to nurture his development. In the 2nd year, I cared for a second child (neighbor) of similar age aswell. My time with the two children continued through mid 2024. My responsibilities included the care & play with the two toddlers throughout the day, feeding/over seeing meal times, putting down for nap time while required, diaper changes/potty training assistance (with guidance/permission of parents), light house work/restoring tidiness at end of each day. Age appropriate activities with the kids included/not limited too: indoor & outdoor play (all weather), exploring simple arts & crafts, lots of reading (number & letter practice), music play, exploring the neighbourhood, parks & age appropriate recreations. Prior to that setting, I have had many years experience in babysitting settings with kids of all ages, during daytime and overnights. I previously completed my CPR & First Aid Training but my certification has expired, I am planning to retake my cert on July 6, with a specific infant/child course. I always refresh my knowledge using Red Cross resources before taking any new job and keep the Canadian Red Cross emergency help App on my Home Screen as a back up.

As a responsible teenager who has spent many years of my life caring for children from a range of different age groups, I'm enthusiastic about the chance to assist your family. I have experience babysitting infancies, toddlers, and school-aged children, allowing me to adeptly adapt to the needs of children at various stages of childhood and adolescence. One of my specialties is the ability to fluently speak English and Chinese with ease. This not only means I can efficiently communicate with your family, regardless of your native tongue, but also potentially offer language lessons should that be an interest. I am passionate about keeping children engaged in various activities that foster cognitive development, such as drawing, reading, and crafts. Moreover, I also love to use music and games to keep them entertained and intellectually stimulated. Beyond just engaging children in various activities, I'm also more than willing to assist them with their homework. This could include but is not limited to, guiding them through complex math problems or helping them brainstorm for an English essay. Besides education, I can also offer support with cooking and light chores around the house, thereby maintaining a clean and healthy environment for the children. Currently, I may not hold a first aid certification but I am preparing for it seriously. Additionally, being a patient and caring individual, I have always placed children's safety and wellbeing at the forefront of all my babysitting activities. Meeting your family personally would be a wonderful opportunity. In this meet-up, we could discuss in detail how I can assist your family effectively, taking into consideration your unique needs and preferences. Please don't hesitate to reach out to me at your earliest convenience! As a responsible teenager with many years of experience caring for children of all ages, from babies to teenagers, I'm excited to help your family. I'm fluent in both English and Chinese, and I'm passionate about engaging kids through drawing, reading, crafts, music, and games. I'm also happy to help with homework, cooking, and light chores.

I’m 46 years old and have had a fulfilling career journey so far — including 21 years as a 911 police dispatcher and over a decade working as a Noon Hour Assistant Supervisor at an elementary school. I also spent years helping parents who worked shift work by caring for their children during those in-between hours when traditional daycare or preschool wasn’t available. Now, I’m beginning a new chapter — one that’s been a lifelong dream: starting a nonprofit organization to support children in care, high-risk youth, and those who often fall through the cracks. This is a cause that’s deeply personal to me. I’m a proud single mother of two incredible young men, now 19 and 17. Raising them — especially while navigating the challenges of supporting one of my sons with complex learning and behavioral needs — shaped who I am today. It also opened my eyes to the serious gaps in our school system for children who learn differently. I’ve been that parent who stayed at school, advocating, adapting, and helping bridge what the system couldn’t provide. I absolutely love kids — they bring me true joy. Whether in schools or in the community, I’ve always felt called to support, uplift, and protect them in any way I can. I have over 10 years of experience working as a Noon Hour Supervisor at an elementary school, as well as providing care for children of shift-working parents. In addition, I worked as a 911 Police Dispatcher for 21 years and hold an enhanced security clearance with the RCMP. I absolutely love working with children — it brings me genuine joy. As a mother, I deeply cherish the memories of my own two boys when they were young, and I miss those years dearly. My passion for supporting kids grew even more as I navigated the journey of raising a son with various learning and behavioral challenges. This experience has made me especially empathetic, patient, and dedicated to creating a safe, nurturing environment for all children.

I’m Alejandra, a bilingual (English/Spanish) caregiver and nanny based in Downtown Vancouver with a background in Biomedical Engineering from Monterrey, Mexico. I come from a close-knit family and grew up as the “go-to” cousin caring for the little ones. I’ve taught catechism to children, served as a Teacher’s Assistant for ages 6–12 (planning learning-through-play activities and keeping a calm classroom), and today I support three wonderful children with disabilities (5, 7, and 9) as a caregiver. These experiences shaped my patience, empathy, and ability to adapt to each child’s needs with positive discipline. I’m also comfortable with diaper changes and daily routines. Interests & hobbies Oxygen Yoga, meditation, reading self-help books, and spending time in nature. What families can expect Reliable, warm, and detail-oriented • Safety-first mindset • Clear, kind communication • Energetic and fast learner • Calm under pressure • Pet-friendly (comfortable with cats/dogs) • Light housekeeping and tidy play spaces • Support with simple meals/snacks and organized routines. My name is Alejandra. Since I was a little girl, I’ve always had a special love for caring for children. At around 9 years old, I was already looking after my younger cousins, and I always found it easy to connect, play, and bring joy to them. Later, I gave catechism classes to small children, which helped me develop patience, creativity, and a natural way of guiding kids through learning and values. During high school, I went on mission trips where I also taught and cared for small groups of children, an experience that deeply shaped my love for teaching, guiding, and nurturing little ones. Here in Vancouver, I also worked as a Teacher’s Assistant for children ages 6–12 on 2024, where I planned activities together with the tutor and made sure the classroom remained calm and positive. I led games that supported learning, encouraged participation, and ensured the kids felt seen, safe, and included. Currently, I’m a caregiver, where I care for three children with disabilities (ages 5, 7, and 9). This has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. I practice positive discipline, adapt to each child’s needs, and bring both energy and patience to every interaction. Being with kids genuinely makes me the happiest. I find so much joy in the little things, like their laughter, curiosity, and the way they see the world. ✨ What I bring as a nanny: Responsible, reliable, and very warm personality Positive discipline approach Fluent in English and Spanish Fast learner with high energy and lots of heart Deep care for creating calm, safe, and joyful environments For me, children deserve to feel loved, respected, and supported, and I take pride in being someone who can provide that space for them to grow.

My name is Damayanti, and I am a dedicated childcare provider with over three years of experience working with young children in preschool settings. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and am currently pursuing an MBA at University Canada West in Vancouver, BC. I come from a close-knit family that values education and personal growth, which has inspired my commitment to nurturing and developing children's potential. In my spare time, I enjoy engaging in creative activities such as arts and crafts, which I often incorporate into my childcare work to stimulate learning and creativity among children. I also love reading, particularly children’s literature, as it allows me to introduce new stories and ideas to the kids I care for. I am known for my patience, adaptability, and strong communication skills, which help me build trusting relationships with both children and parents. My First Aid and CPR certification ensures that I prioritize safety and well-being in all situations. I am passionate about creating enriching environments where children can thrive, learn, and explore, and I am excited about the opportunity to bring my skills and enthusiasm to a new childcare role. I have over three years of childcare experience, primarily as a babysitter at Eurokids Preschool in Kathmandu, Nepal, from January 2021 to June 2024. In this role, I provided daily care for 10-15 children aged 2-5, focusing on their safety and emotional well-being. I organized educational activities and managed feeding, naptime, and playtime routines, successfully implementing a structured play-and-learn schedule that enhanced their attention spans and early learning skills. Additionally, I worked as a cleaner/housekeeper at Grace Montessori from March to December 2020, where I maintained cleanliness and hygiene in classrooms and common areas, assisted with laundry, and prepared simple meals for staff and students.
