My name is Allycia and I live in Port Moody with my school aged daughter, 7 month old baby (born in June) and husband. I am studying towards my ECE (one practicum away from completion!) and currently hold an ECE-A certificate. I am looking for either a full time, live out position, open to part time also. Long term preferred. I will be bringing my baby with me, who will be around 1 at the time I am available to start work. So ideally the family will have a child of a similar age so they can be buddies. Open to hosting too (we will have a sleep space for them, outdoor area, playroom and also a pool for when they are older) When my older child was 1 I also took her to work with me from age 1 to 5 and it was so incredible. We worked for two families in that time, and we gained two new sets of close friends in the process. They can both attest to how amazing the experience was, it benefited us all :) I am from New Zealand originally but became a permanent resident of Canada many years ago. I have worked in childcare for the past 18 years and consider myself a career nanny. I have worked in NZ, Australia and the UK as a nanny and I truly love what I do! I consider myself a big sister type and enjoy getting down and playing, doing crafts, baking, cooking and going on adventures, as well as attending classes. I also love to help children gain independence and allow them to discover their own potential. I consider my style of parenting and nannying to be respectful and I help children to listen to their bodies and emotions and deal with them in a positive way. For example if a child is having a meltdown/feeling upset about something, I don't try to distract them from their feelings, I work with them to figure out what's really going on and help them to name their feelings and deal with it together. At the same time, I will work with the parents of the child/ren I am taking care of and find what works best for all of us together. I consider us to be a team with the same goal in mind and I very much value open communication. I have a drivers license and a car and happy to commute within a reasonable distance.
