As a passionate childcare professional and musician, I have diverse experience that ranges from being a night nanny to supervisory roles in daycare centers. I also consult with families about childcare issues and possess expertise in dealing with special needs children as well as those from various cultural backgrounds. Currently, I am employed as an office assistant in an Ottawa-Carleton District school. Outside of work, I am a vocalist in two choirs, play several instruments, and am the primary soloist in my church choir. I currently live with my mother; I am the youngest of three and took care of my nephew from the age of three months, and later, my nieces. These children are now all in their early to mid-twenties.
I am a graduate of the early childhood education program, from Loyalist College, in Belleville, ON. I have worked in the field for 32 years in the capacity of a brick and mortar day care centre at the beginning of my career. Other experiences include working as a night nanny, working in a 24 hour day care centre, being a head teacher for a daycare Kindergarten program, running various childcare programs such as the Sunday school at my church, creating a mock day care setting in a church that wanted to open a day care, acting in an advisory role for to other church programs on improving their play space., finally Nannying for several families in the Ottawa area. Working as a supply ECE within the OCDSB Early Learning programs.
