I'm Emily, a devoted 21-year-old student pursuing a BScN degree in Ottawa. With over five years of child care experience, I am deeply familiar with the joy and challenges that come along with nurturing growing minds. As I come from a big family and have played the "big sister" role throughout my life, I bring to the table not only my professional expertise but also my personal passion for caring for children. I am available on weekdays for morning, evening, or middle of the day shifts, ready to provide full-time or part-time assistance depending on your family's needs. From cooking and light housekeeping to assisting with homework and managing dietary needs, I'm equipped to handle all childcare-related tasks. I'm also comfortable with running errands, grocery shopping and pet care, should these be required. I have an adaptable personality that allows me to connect with children of all ages, ranging from newborns to pre-teens. I have successfully managed to take care of up to three children at a time, guaranteeing individual attention to all of them. I take pride in being a problem solver who thrives in fast-paced environments. This trait, coupled with my first aid and CPR training, ensures that I can comfortably navigate any situation that might arise. Moreover, my background includes a variety of roles such as babysitting throughout high school and university, volunteering as a camp counsellor with my church and caring for babies in our Sunday nursery. I have several years experience in babysitting a variety of ages; newborns, toddlers and early teenagers. I come from a large family with younger siblings so I've grown up in a nurturing role and it is something that comes very easily to me. I'm currently in school working towards my BScN and this has given me a variety of certifications such as first-aid, BLS provider, CPR, and vulnerable sector check. I currently babysit on occasion as I was in school, but I am looking forward to taking on more responsibility over the summer months.
