Mia K.
My name is Mia! I’m a communications and psychology student with aspirations of pursuing an education degree and teaching globally. As an enthusiastic and extroverted individual, I’m passionate about helping children reach their full potential. As a caregiver, my goal is to create a nurturing environment where children feel empowered, valued, and excited to learn, all while fostering strong, meaningful relationships with them.
I have a diverse background in working with children across various settings. As a camp counselor at the Nonsensical Society for Kids, I led creative and engaging activities for children, fostering teamwork and problem-solving skills. At UHN, I assisted in caring for children of cancer patients, providing emotional support and educational activities in a sensitive environment. I also served as a teacher’s assistant in a low-income elementary school, where I supported students with individualized learning tasks and helped maintain a positive learning atmosphere. As an afterschool program leader, I organized recreational and educational activities, promoting both academic success and personal growth. Additionally, my babysitting experience involved providing reliable childcare, focusing on safety, comfort, and engaging age-appropriate activities. These roles have allowed me to develop strong communication, empathy, and leadership skills while working with children from diverse backgrounds.
