Hi my name is Claire and I am 31 years old. I am a mother to a fantastic 2 1/2 year old little boy! I have an educational background in fitness and health so I very much enjoy being active and also put extra attention into meals to incorporate as many nutrients as possible. I am also a certified Zumba instructor so I love incorporating music and dancing into a child’s day! I started working as a nanny when I was 24 years old and discovered my love for caring for and helping children grow and thrive! I am a very nurturing person, I’m calm and believe children need to feel heard and have their emotions validated. Since my son turned 1 years old I have run my own home day care out of my house so I have references from both nanny families and families who children I have looked after through my daycare. Recently I have decided to return to nanny work and I am looking for a position till October. Very much looking forward to supporting another family!

I have previously been a professional nanny to 3 families in Ottawa. I have looked after children professionally from the age of 1 year old to 14 years old. My duties for these families included but were not limited to diaper changing, feeding, creating age appropriate activities, story time, music/singing, meal preparation (breakfast, lunch and dinner), grocery shopping, housework, taking children to actives and helping with homework. I have travelled internationally (Paris) with one of my families to look after the children while the parents had business obligations. I also have a 2 1/2 year old son so I am very comfortable with infants. I’m a skilled baby wearer, know baby sign language, have used baby led weaning and have many tricks for putting a young child down for a nap. I love spending lots of time outside and being active with the children I look after. Going for nature walks or to the park at two of my favourite ways to spend time in the spring/summer!
