If I could describe myself in just a few words, I’d say I’m kind, dependable, compassionate, and someone who genuinely loves caring for others. For me, childcare isn’t simply about keeping children safe—it’s about helping them feel seen, heard, encouraged, and loved while giving parents the peace of mind that their little ones are in caring, capable hands. For over 10 years, I’ve had the privilege of working with children and youth as a camp counsellor, youth worker, lifeguard, swim instructor, and recreation leader throughout Durham Region. I’ve cared for children of all ages—from newborns discovering the world around them to teenagers finding their independence—and every stage has brought something special. Safety has always been at the heart of everything I do. My background as a lifeguard, swim instructor, and First Aid/CPR-certified caregiver has taught me to stay calm under pressure, think quickly, and always put children’s wellbeing first. But beyond safety, I believe the most meaningful part of this work is building trust, creating joyful memories, and becoming someone children know they can always turn to with a smile, a question, or a story they’re excited to tell. Throughout my career, I’ve also supported children and adults with diverse abilities, as well as seniors requiring compassionate care. Those experiences have strengthened my patience, empathy, adaptability, and understanding that every person deserves to feel respected and valued. I believe every child is wonderfully unique, and I love getting to know what makes them laugh, what sparks their imagination, and how I can help them grow into confident, happy little humans. When I’m caring for a family, I love being involved wherever I can. Whether that’s helping with homework, preparing healthy meals, baking together on a rainy afternoon, reading bedtime stories, heading outside for adventures, organizing crafts, driving to activities, caring for pets, tidying the house, or simply making your day run a little more smoothly, I’m always happy to lend a hand. My goal is to become someone who supports your whole family—not just your childcare needs. I have a valid Ontario driver’s licence and am comfortable driving in all seasons. While I don’t currently own a vehicle, I’m more than happy to drive a family vehicle for school drop-offs, appointments, extracurricular activities, errands, or day trips. I’d also love to introduce you to someone very special in my life—Sophia. 🐾 Sophia is my gentle 3½-year-old Golden Retriever. She has been assessed for a therapy dog role and has the sweetest, calmest personality. She absolutely loves people and has a wonderful way of making others smile. If I’m applying for a live-in position, Sophia would need to come with me because she’s truly part of my family. For part-time or live-out positions, she would usually stay home, although for longer days I’m always happy to discuss whether she’d be welcome to accompany me. This would only ever be with your family’s comfort and permission. If dogs are already part of your family, there’s a good chance Sophia would love them too! I believe childhood should be filled with kindness, curiosity, laughter, imagination, muddy boots, bedtime stories, silly games, learning new things, and knowing there’s always someone cheering you on.
