I am a part-time college student taking three courses at the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology (SAIT). I am in the Legal Assistant program and currently living on campus. My family is from Okotoks, and this is my first year living in Calgary alone. I spend most of my time studying, playing guitar, and video games. I am a very punctual person and will likely be at any place I need to be 20 minutes before necessary, haha. I really enjoy teaching younger people how to do things like playing games and reading books. It brings me a lot of joy to see them trying their best to figure out life's challenges and working together to solve problems. When I am with children, I never go on my phone or sit around. I always spend 100% of my time playing with them, or cleaning the house, or cooking. I was a full-time nanny to a 5-year-old boy and a 7-year-old girl. My duties included picking them up from school, taking them to their activities, and feeding them breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Some nights, I was required to put them to bed. I also spoke French to them as much as possible so that they could better learn the language while studying it in school. Additionally, I would take them and their friends to trampoline parks, amusement parks, and many other fun activities. I also babysat a 3-year-old girl and a 4-year-old girl. This involved driving to their house, playing Barbies, hide and seek, and tag with the girls. I asked the parents if I could take them to the park near their house, and they agreed. We would often take walks to the park and play for hours. I also cooked for them and cleaned their house while the girls were napping.

I’m a caring, responsible, and energetic individual who enjoys helping children learn, grow, and explore the world around them. My background includes active participation in Sea Cadets and marching band, which have taught me patience, teamwork, and leadership. I have a creative side, with hobbies like painting, crocheting, and the arts, and I love to share those activities with kids. I’m also passionate about the sciences—especially biology and chemistry—and enjoy finding fun ways to spark curiosity in young minds. In my free time, I love hiking, camping, and spending time outdoors, which I believe is a wonderful way for children to build confidence and imagination. I bring a balance of structure, creativity, and warmth to my work, making me dedicated to providing a safe, engaging, and supportive environment for the children in my care. I have a strong background in childcare and youth support developed through a variety of roles in both structured and informal settings. As a camp counsellor at a nature and education centre, I supervised groups ranging from 5 to 30 children, leading outdoor learning and play activities while multitasking between supervision, cleaning duties, and activity setup to ensure a safe and inclusive environment. In my leadership role as a senior cadet, I staffed camps, weekend programs, and training activities for youth aged 12 to 16, often working with groups of 15 to 100 cadets. Many of the cadets I supervised were part of instructional classes I helped lead, where I provided support, structure, and mentorship. I’m trusted by younger cadets who regularly come to me for guidance, and I work easily and effectively with fellow senior cadets to provide the best possible care, instruction, and team environment. Similarly, as a senior in my school’s marching band, I serve as a mentor to junior band members, helping them develop skills, stay organized, and feel supported during practices and performances. I also have hands-on babysitting experience with two energetic young boys (my cousins) and children of family friends, providing attentive, engaging, and safe care. Additionally, I’ve supported elementary students through tutoring, helping them with reading, homework, and foundational subjects, as well as assisting younger classmates in school with academic support and study skills.

I am a 20-year-old woman originally from Quebec, newly settled in Alberta. I have gained hands-on experience with children through part-time work as a school-based childcare assistant (kindergarten and first grade) and years of babysitting for young children (ages 0-4). I am highly motivated to integrate professionally here and find new opportunities. French is my first language, and I am actively improving my English. Regarding transportation, I have a valid driver's license, although I do not have a car just yet. I am an animal lover and perfectly comfortable in pet-friendly environments. I worked part-time as a student care assistant in a school-based childcare setting with kindergarten and first-grade students. I also have previous experience as a babysitter for infants and toddlers (ages 0-4).
