I aim to create a safe place for kids to learn and grow whole also having fun! I've worked in multiple daycare settings, held many nanny jobs as well as home and commercial daycare. I have volunteered in the school system as well as raised and homeschooled my own 5 children. I have over 40 years experience in the childcare field and I have multiple skills because of it. I retired from teaching three years ago. I was a teacher with Dufferin Peel for 30 years. I taught grades one through twelve. I have always enjoyed being around people however, children and the elderly have always had a special place in my heart. I love keeping active as I enjoy hiking and exercising. I think it's very important that a child's self esteem is nurtured and that they are not afraid to take risks. I am positive with children whether they are learning a new activity or trying to learn a new concept in school. I encourage children to grow socially, emotionally, physically and academically. I have a great sense of humor and enjoy living life to the fullest. I taught Special Education and have worked with autistic children too. I know I would be a welcome addition to your home.
