My name is Kareen. I was born and raised in the Philippines in May 1983. I have a younger sister and two younger brothers. Growing up in the Philippines, I learn to speak in Tagalog and Bisaya. I am happily married and blessed with one 18 year old son, currently living in Brampton. I also come home to an energetic 2 year old yorkie named Lilly (named after a Pokemon, Lillipup). I’ve travelled to Hong Kong and Kuwait for work, as well as New York and Miami for vacation. I am a driving nanny with my own vehicle and can travel with my employer IN and OUT of the country, as I am a Canadian citizen. I started nannying in 2008, to provide for my son. Nannying is my passion. Children who I’ve took care of call my “Tita”, which means auntie in Tagalog. I find that it helps the children distinguish mother from nanny/caregiver. I have worked with children ranging from new born to 10 years old, experienced with multiple children (2-3, including twins) to child with special needs. I have also worked with a family of 5 – 5 year old, 3 year old twins, and two father-figures (and a small dog). This was a unique situation as I was able to experience a different perspective in two fathers raising a family, though the formula is the same as other families: love and caring. I am certified for emergency first aid/CPR trained, and have a clean driving record. I’m looking for a family I can build a relationship with, to have that bond and connection, be dedicated with my work and earn the trust and respect of the family. My experience is what I bring to a family. I am honest, hardworking, and full of patience in caring for children. I can adapt to the family’s needs, and am always looking for something to do whether it is to clean or organize closets and pantries. In my past work, I was a nanny/house manager, so not only limited to caring for children, but I am quite useful around the house, from meal preparation to doing the laundry (and everything in between).
