I’m Jade. I really believe kids learn best when they’re given the time and space to explore – when they can play, get a little messy, ask questions, and just be curious about the world around them. A lot of that, to me, comes from being connected to nature and noticing the small things. I’ve been working in childcare for about two years now, mostly in after-school programs and summer camps. I’ve spent a lot of time with kids aged 4 to 8, and that’s the age group I feel most connected to. There’s something really special about how they’re learning to understand their feelings, their friendships, and themselves. I enjoy being there to support that, and to help create a space where they feel safe and cared for. I always try to make sure kids feel seen – not just looked after, but really supported, especially when it comes to their emotional well-being. When I’m not working, I like keeping things simple. I read, go on hikes, and take walks around different neighbourhoods just to get out and notice things. I also swim, crochet, and lately I’ve been trying to cook more. I’m still learning, but I’ve been enjoying it a lot. It’s a pretty simple life, but it feels good to me. Over the past couple of years, I’ve found myself growing into childcare in a really natural way. I’ve worked in after-school care, school programs, and summer camps, and more recently as a school-age educator. A lot of my days are spent planning simple, meaningful activities – things that help kids move, create, think, and connect with each other. I like keeping things flexible, following their interests when I can, and making space for those small moments where they get really engaged in something. Safety is always at the center of what I do, but beyond that, I try to create an environment that feels calm, welcoming, and steady. Whether it’s walking kids to and from school, helping them through their routines, or just being there during play, I aim to be someone they can rely on. I’ve also had the chance to work in a preschool setting and in a forest school, which both shaped how I see learning. In those spaces, I leaned more into observation – watching how children interact with their environment, how they express themselves, and how much they can do when given the right support. Especially outdoors, where learning feels more open-ended and a little more free. Across all of these roles, one thing that’s stayed consistent is how important relationships are. With the children, of course, but also with families and the team. I try to communicate openly, be present, and contribute to a space where everyone feels included and supported. It’s work that asks a lot of you, but in a quiet, steady way. And it’s work I keep coming back to. Early Childhood Educator Assistant Responsible Adult Certificate

I’m 46 years old and have had a fulfilling career journey so far — including 21 years as a 911 police dispatcher and over a decade working as a Noon Hour Assistant Supervisor at an elementary school. I also spent years helping parents who worked shift work by caring for their children during those in-between hours when traditional daycare or preschool wasn’t available. Now, I’m beginning a new chapter — one that’s been a lifelong dream: starting a nonprofit organization to support children in care, high-risk youth, and those who often fall through the cracks. This is a cause that’s deeply personal to me. I’m a proud single mother of two incredible young men, now 19 and 17. Raising them — especially while navigating the challenges of supporting one of my sons with complex learning and behavioral needs — shaped who I am today. It also opened my eyes to the serious gaps in our school system for children who learn differently. I’ve been that parent who stayed at school, advocating, adapting, and helping bridge what the system couldn’t provide. I absolutely love kids — they bring me true joy. Whether in schools or in the community, I’ve always felt called to support, uplift, and protect them in any way I can. I have over 10 years of experience working as a Noon Hour Supervisor at an elementary school, as well as providing care for children of shift-working parents. In addition, I worked as a 911 Police Dispatcher for 21 years and hold an enhanced security clearance with the RCMP. I absolutely love working with children — it brings me genuine joy. As a mother, I deeply cherish the memories of my own two boys when they were young, and I miss those years dearly. My passion for supporting kids grew even more as I navigated the journey of raising a son with various learning and behavioral challenges. This experience has made me especially empathetic, patient, and dedicated to creating a safe, nurturing environment for all children.

My name is Paula from Salamanca, Spain( which means I can help your children with their Spanish homework). I've been working with children since I graduated from high school and was always the "go-to" baby sitter for many families in my area before that. My experience includes babysitting and au pair for families in Spain, New Zealand, Portugal, the United States and Canada. My expertise lies in caring for newborns from 0 months👶 old to children up to 8 years old👧, having worked extensively in this age range in my previous roles. I'm very friendly and bubbly and love getting to know new people and have never had a problem with having children warm up to me quickly! I am also comfortable watching every episode of Bluey (my favorite!), PJ MASK or Paw Patrol (for the 100th time) I'm very honest and trust-worthy. - So, why pick me? Well, first off, I've practically got a PhD in forts, bedtime negotiations, and snack-time diplomacy. - What makes me the Mary Poppins you didn't know you needed? I've lived in more countries than I can count, so I come with a suitcase full of cultural insights and a knack for adapting to any kiddo's quirks. Flexibility? It's my middle name (not really, but it should be). - Do you want to know something else about myself? Now, here's the plot twist: I used to be a hotshot journalist and did the whole marketing agency thing for years. But guess what? My true calling is hanging out with kiddos! Who would've thought? I figured out that my heart belongs to the playground, not the boardroom. I'm not your average sit-on-the-sidelines nanny. Nope, I bring a journalistic flair to the mix. Interviews about favorite toys, breaking news on cookie thefts—it's all part of the gig. Plus, I've got the creativity to turn a rainy day into a full-blown indoor treasure hunt. In a nutshell, I'm not your run-of-the-mill nanny; I'm the Mary Poppins with many stories saved in my pocket, a sense of humor, and a knack for turning the ordinary into the extraordinary. Can't wait to chat more and bring some serious fun to your kiddos' lives. Let's make childcare an adventure! Ps: - Valid First AID and CPR certificate Red Cross Certificate - Emergency First Aid and CPR (Life Saving Society) - Intermediate First Aid with CPR- C/AED (Life Saving Society) - YMCA BC's Responsible Adult Course in Child Development, Child Guidance, and Nutrition - Solid local references - Spanish Teacher certificate (A1 to B2) - Newborns, toddlers experience - Valid work permit - Dog lover ;) Not only am I an exceptional nanny, but I've also got a side gig as a sewing aficionado🧵. The pandemic turned me into a cross-stitch and embroidery enthusiast, my newfound zen. While I'm usually the go-to for cozy movie days under a blanket on Vancouver's rainy afternoons, I'm also the adventurous type. You'll find me chasing snow up at Cypress, exploring thrift stores for hidden gems, and immersing myself in the world of ceramics. Let's chat about education, I hold a journalism degree with masters in event organization and social media. A bit unexpected, right? Despite my letters-centric background, my love for kids took the spotlight, especially after discovering it through my travels. Speaking of travel, I'm an incurably curious soul, always eager to learn and discover new things and places. Traveling has been my greatest teacher, introducing me to incredible locations and people that I carry with me forever🌍. So, if you're looking for a nanny who can stitch up a storm, add a sprinkle of creativity, and bring an insatiable curiosity to your child's world, you've found her!🌈 Ps: - Valid First AID and CPR Red Cross Certificate - Intermediate First Aid with CPR- C/AED (Life Saving Society) - Emergency First Aid and CPR (Life Saving Society) - YMCA BC's Responsible Adult Course in Child Development, Child Guidance, and Nutrition - Solid local references - Spanish Teacher certificate (A1 to B2) - Newborns, toddlers experience - Valid work permit - Dog lover ;) -Driving license

I am a passionate nanny, new to Vancouver. I recently moved here from the Czech Republic with my boyfriend. I enjoy the outdoors and staying active through activities like hiking, jogging and skitouring. I love to write and read, especially to children. My past experience as a Czech Scout has gifted me many outdoor skills that I am eager to teach to interested children. These skills include identifying different flowers and animal tracks. Caring for children comes naturally to me. I enjoy playing games, crafting, spending time outside, singing, playing instruments, reading books, dancing and engaging in conversation with them. I believe it is important to teach children to be gentle, not just with themselves, but also with others and their environment. I also value teaching independence and confidence through a patient and respectful approach. I believe that communication is key, especially with young children. I do not force food or touch, but the only non-negotiable for me is safety. I strongly believe in maintaining open lines of communication with parents and caregivers to ensure consistent care. It's also important to me to support the family's methods rather than contradict them. I make a point not to use my phone in front of children unless it is necessary. I do not use profanity or raise my voice at them, and I am a non-smoker. I am excited to explore more of Vancouver with children and I hope we will have a great time together. I volunteered in a scout troop, tutored children with difficult backgrounds for a charity, worked in a private nursery and also worked as a nanny so I have experience with children of all ages.
