I am a long standing resident of North Vancouver, experienced mother of 4 (all young adults now). I have 14 years experience in the senior health care industry, and 7 years working part time with children & families. I like to work with families who require casual assistance and would appreciate the care, warmth, reliability and experience I have to offer. I have to say the happiest time of my life was when my children were young and I was home caring for them. What is more important than nurturing a child ? I really love babies, and have experience with twins of my own. Toddlers as well are so funny and endearing. I am a person who would respect your child-raising values. My experience is first hand motherhood. I was a stay at home mom of 4 kids who were born within 4 years, including a set of twins. I loved those early years. As a young woman I also babysat as a part time job, and as a teenager I babysat all the time. This was always a job of choice, I have always loved children and child care. When my children were young I also participated in a babysitting share with the Mothers of Multiples club. I would care for your children in accordance with your family values, I would respect your wishes. Personally I choose to honour a warm and loving environment, and as children are growing up, teaching them personal age appropriate responsibility (ie cleaning up toys, clearing their own dishes, helping with simple chores), mentoring kindness and manners, and would follow a routine/schedule again that is age appropriate. Children need love and nurturing, healthy food, fresh air, exercise, quiet time and free play. I am not one to hover over children, I let them explore and experience life while at the same time my eyes are always on them to keep them safe and secure. I practice living in the moment, and will honour your children with this important value. In regards to childcare, I do have 6 years experience with the Lynn Valley Parent Participation Preschool; various positions I held were Enrollment Chair and Personnel Chair. I have held casual to part time nanny positions with two families in my community. I worked with a non profit supporting mothers and babies for 7 years. I have raised 4 children of my own.
