Julia M.
I'm Julia, a passionate and experienced childcare provider from Richmond Hill, Ontario but I am planning to move to North Vancouver mid September! With a background in kinesiology and minors in biology psychology from Wilfrid Laurier University, I bring a deep understanding of child development, safety, and engagement. I have experience as a nanny, babysitter, dog walker, private swim instructor, lifeguard, soccer coach and referee, physiotherapy assistant and program leader for travel teen tours. My work with West Coast Connection has given me the ability to manage large groups while traveling, ensuring safety and creating unforgettable experiences in several states and throughout Europe. I also have a black belt in karate and a competitive sports background, having played university soccer, rep volleyball, basketball, frisbee and much more! Beyond my professional skills, I’m adventurous, creative, and love crafting, skiing, and exploring the outdoors. Employers will appreciate my reliability, leadership, and ability to keep children engaged, active, and safe.
I have a wide range of childcare experience! Over the past year, I have nannied for two families. With one family, I was primarily responsible for caring for a 2-year-old, while also helping with school pick-up and drop-off for their 4.5-year-old. With another family, I cared for their 8- and 11-year-old children, which included babysitting, walking their dog, driving them to and from sports practices, and picking them up from school. I have also been a babysitter in Richmond Hill, ON, caring for children of various ages and needs. In addition, I have coached soccer and volleyball, worked as a lifeguard, and taught swimming lessons to children ranging from toddlers to teenagers. I also have experience coaching special-needs soccer and have worked as a Program Leader for teen travel programs in the USA, Europe, and Costa Rica. I really enjoy creating fun and engaging activities for children that allow them to learn, explore, and develop new skills while having fun. Whether it’s doing crafts, going to the library, visiting a farm, playing sports, or exploring somewhere new, I love creating experiences that keep kids active, engaged, and excited to learn!
