Maya R.
I'm an undergraduate student who loves the outdoors, baked goods, and spontaneous dance parties. I think that children are the most precious part of the world, and am continually inspired by what they can get up to. I have extensive child care experience, ranging from infants to teenagers. In my years as a rock climbing coach, I taught while maintaining a fun, encouraging, and communal approach. During my time as Head Coach, I prioritized creating a space in which children felt safe and comfortable to be themselves. I learned how to be kind but firm, communicate important information in an efficient and engaging manner, and adapt to unforeseen circumstances. Additionally, I have tutored at a primary level and privately nannied below the age of three. In my approach to childcare, I believe in outdoor and active play, creative learning, and fostering independence. I hope to create an environment where children can take risks safely and communicate openly. I never go into a situation assuming a child has malicious intent, feel comfortable saying “no”, and often find that the best answer is simply to listen. I am First Aid and CPR certified and have dealt with a variety of emergency medical situations. Though I am fluent in French, I only offer services in English. Please message me if you believe I am the right fit for your family and childcare needs!
I have experience with: * Children 0-15. * Supervising up to 8 children solo, and up 40 children when managing other caregivers. * Developing and delivering coaching and teaching material. * Planning and organizing daily activities.
