Lilou T.
My name is Lilou, I'm 20 years old, born in Belgium, and I've been living in Quebec, Canada for the past 14 years. I have family both in Montreal, Canada and in Belgium, two places that truly feel like home to me. I've been living in Canada for 14 years now. I moved to Montreal with my parents and my little sister, who's four years younger than me. A few years ago, my big sister joined us in Canada... and started her own family here! That's how I became the super proud aunt of little Nelea, the sweetest little girl who's already almost two years old. My personality: I am a calm, caring, curious, and well-organized person‹ A pretty interesting mix, haha!) In every situation, I stay very centered and balanced. I have always been an adventurous person, which is what brought me here (and keeps bringing me back!). I love exploring new things, subjects, people, places, sports, countries, languages, each and every one of these helps me learn, which I truly enjoy more than anything. Besides that, I'm a creative soul. My family is full of artists, so creativity runs in my blood. I love painting, creating, writing, but above all, reading. I can easily spend hours lost in books. My education: I did an international program in high school, which helped me learn more about the world and different languages. I studied Spanish for two years there ( but unfortunately, l've forgotten quite a bit over time!) After that, I went to CEGEP in Canada, which is kind of like a step between high school and university. I studied management and marketing for two years and earned a diploma in that field. Work-wise, I've mostly been in the restaurant world, l've worked as a kitchen assistant and also in management roles. l've also done quite a lot of babysitting over the years, and I recently finished my very first job as an au pair in Florence. My experience: I recently spent 5 wonderful months as an au pair in Florence, Italy, with a sweet family and their 11-year-old child. Before that, I was a regular babysitter in Canada, caring for my little sister, my baby niece, and the children of family friends. I've always been surrounded by kids and I genuinely love spending time with them !Whether it's playtime, creative projects, or helping with homework My languages: I speak French fluently it's my native language. I've also been learning and speaking English for over 14 years, so I now feel completely comfortable using it in everyday life. It's like a second native language for me. I also speak intermediate Italian (around B1 level), which I improved a lot during my recent experience in Italy.
For child care, I did several years of babysitting when I was younger, from age 15 to 17. Then, when I was 19, my sister had a child, and since then I’ve been taking care of her regularly. This year, I also spent five months doing live-in childcare as an au pair in Italy. I have worked with children of all different ages.
