Aria F.
I am a New Zealander seeking childcare employment in Montréal. In New Zealand I studied a bachelor’s degree and then worked for three years in the related field (government Ministry work). In May 2025 I moved to Canada for an “overseas experience” and career break. I am a friendly person with a drive for success and attention to detail. I enjoy working in childcare as I find that spending time with children allows me to take a step back and appreciate the simple beauties of life. I also find talking to children natural and comfortable as I have a lot of experience and I grew up in a family of teachers. Growing up by the ocean and forest, I have always had a keen interest in the environment, and as a stress release I often opt for a walk outdoors. I enjoy staying fit, but I also have a strong interest in art history, film, literature and global politics. I also enjoy socialising, watching movies, reading and listening to live music.
I have extensive childcare experience as I have been working in this field on and off since high school. My experience is: - 2016-2018, Volunteered for Pippins Whangaparāoa, part time. This was looking after and co-ordinating activities for 5-6 year old girls for Girl Guiding New Zealand. (Around 15 girls with 2 other supervisors) - February 16 2020 – December 2020, English Tutor (ages 5-15), part time Numberworks'nWords, Kilbirnie. This was a tutoring position, working with several kids at a time to improve their English skills (mostly children who were native english speakers who needed to improve writing skills etc.) - February 2021 – January 2022, Childcare Supervisor, part time, SMASH Club. Working as a supervisor with 20-90 children at a time with 2-5 other supervisors. - January 2025 – May 2025, Childcare Supervisor, part time, Whangaparāoa School. This was a role similar to above, with 80-100 children at a time (3-6 other supervisors). Both of the above roles included a lot of conflict resolution, activity planning/running and general supervision to ensure the enjoyment and safety of the children. - July 2025-current, Volunteering for M Montreal Hostel and bar, part time. I am currently volunteering in a hostel, and doing around 15 hrs a week of cleaning/housekeeping. This is giving me excellent and efficient cleaning skills
