Zoe V.
My name is Zoë and I'm in my third year of university, working toward a Bachelor's degree in psychology and child development. I'm from California but currently attend Concordia on exchange, and I can't wait to get to know the city more. In my free time, I love to read, do anything creative, and explore new places. I'd say this definitely carries over into my work, as I love having story time or coming up with fun arts/crafts and games with the little ones. Although I've learned to adapt to the challenges and surprises which arise in childcare, I'm great at organizing and pre-planning when possible. Currently, I've only done 1 university year of French, so I'm definitely a beginner, but I work to learn more each day. Overall, I'd say that my approach to childcare is to encourage growth and fun while maintaining safety, and ultimately my job is to listen to and cooperate with parents to do what's best for their family.
Previously, I've worked professionally with two families, one of which had a 13-month old, and another which had a 2- and a 4-year old; Additionally, I've volunteered with a community daycare, caring for infants ranging from newborn to 1.5 years old, as well as caring for children in my family up to 14 years old.
Currently, I'm pursuing my bachelor's degree in Psychology, which a minor in Child Development/Child Studies. Also, I've obtained my Adult and Pediatric First Aid/CPR certification from the American Red Cross.
