My work history is in health care and human resources as an Admin. Assistant. I was drawn to this work because of my innate ability to communicate and empathize with people and provide the support they need and expect in sometimes difficult or unfamiliar circumstances.
Although I am single, I have 6 nieces and nephews, now aged 2 to 12. I have played a large role in all their lives and I can truly say I have a gift for caring for and nurturing children. People who know me and have seen me interact with children have suggested to me that I should open a day care because of the bond I form with the children in my life. I find great joy in making a child laugh and in seeing them learn something new when I interact with them.
I love to read, play games, sing and do crafts with kids.
When asked what brings me happiness, the first thing that comes to mind is being with my nieces and nephews. I think I would be a great person to help look after your children.
I do not have any formal child care experience.
When my sister had her first two children I stayed with the family every weekend for several years to look after the boys while my sister and her husband worked. I was responsible for dressing them, feeding them, entertaining them, putting them to bed, keeping them safe and keeping the house tidy.
I was also a Girl Guide leader for several years when I was just out of University.
My nieces and nephews are now somewhat older, however I still look after them from time to time when I visit with them. I provide them with a safe, loving environment and do everything from ensuring their personal and mental well-being to washing their clothes and preparing meals.
