Mariam B.
My name is Mariam, and I’m based in Mississauga. I come from a warm, close‑knit family, and I’m recently engaged, which has made family, caregiving, and routine an even more meaningful part of my life. I’ve always loved working with children, and my experience spans recreation, education, and hands‑on childcare in both home and program settings. I have several years of experience caring for children of all ages. From newborns and infants to school‑aged kids and teens. My background includes daytime babysitting, evening care, overnight support, and multi‑day care when families needed extended help. I’m very comfortable with newborn routines such as bottle‑feeding, diaper changes, soothing, sleep support, and maintaining consistent schedules. I’m also experienced with bedtime routines, morning routines, and supporting children through transitions when parents are away. Alongside babysitting, I also work as a teacher, supporting students in classroom environments and adapting lessons to different learning styles and needs. My teaching experience has strengthened my patience, communication skills, and ability to create structured, engaging, and supportive environments for children. It has also helped me understand child development, behaviour support, and how to build trust quickly with kids. A significant part of my work has involved supporting children with disabilities and diverse needs. Through my roles in recreation and education, I’ve learned how to adapt activities, provide individualized support, and create inclusive, safe, and welcoming spaces for every child. Families often describe me as calm, reliable, and someone their children feel comfortable with right away. Outside of childcare, I enjoy cooking, travelling, spending time outdoors, and all things arts and crafts. I’m naturally caring, responsible, and organized, and I truly enjoy building meaningful connections with kids. My goal is always to give parents peace of mind knowing their child is in caring, capable hands.
I have several years of hands‑on experience working with children of all ages through my roles in recreation, education, and community programming. My work has included supporting children in group programs, one‑on‑one settings, and inclusive environments where each child’s needs and abilities are respected. I’ve planned activities, supervised play, helped with routines, and created safe, engaging spaces where kids feel comfortable and confident. A large part of my experience involves supporting children with disabilities and diverse needs. I’ve worked closely with families to understand what helps their child thrive, and I’m trained in behaviour support, safety procedures, and disability‑informed practices. I’m patient, calm, and adaptable, and I always focus on building trust and making sure every child feels included and understood. Across all my roles, I’ve learned how to balance fun with safety, structure with flexibility, and independence with support. I truly enjoy connecting with kids, helping them explore their interests, and giving parents peace of mind knowing their child is in caring, capable hands.
