My name is Melak, and I am a 20 year old second year Child Studies student at York University with a strong passion for working with children. I have 5+ years of experience as a youth and camp mentor, teacher's assistant, volunteer in childcare settings, and worked 10+ jobs as a private babysitter. I've been babysitting since I was a teenager and worked with a variety of ages. I am CPR certified and worked with special needs before. I have flexibility for hours as I am taking a semester off and willing to do full or part time as well as weekends and occasional care. I also can do meal prepping as well as light housekeeping, as I worked many times as a household manager while babysitting. I am very knowledgeable and passionate about childcare and know how to handle newborns and take care of children of all ages. I have references for many families I’ve worked for that I could share if needed as well. Through both my academic studies and hands on experience, I understand the importance of creating a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment for children. I am caring, patient, enthusiastic, and reliable, and I enjoy planning creative activities, supporting learning, and maintaining positive routines. Families can count on me to be responsible, communicative, and attentive to each child's individual needs. Please contact me as I would love for the opportunity to support your family and contribute to your child's growth!
