Pooja K.
My name is Pooja, and I am from Nepal, a beautiful country. I came to Canada in October 2023 and started studying Developmental Services Worker (DSW) at Fanshawe College in Toronto. Through my studies, I have learned how to care for people, assist them with their daily activities, and support their medical needs. I have also received training in reinforcement techniques, which has allowed me to work with both people and animals by promoting positive behaviors and reducing negative ones. I have experience caring for animals, including walking, grooming, and ensuring their well-being. I am now looking forward to pursuing my career as a caregiver for both people and animals, seeking opportunities to make a meaningful impact in this field.
As a DSW student, I have gained experience working in both residential and home care settings, supporting children and elderly individuals. My work at Manav Seva in Nepal provided me with the opportunity to care for both people with disabilities and non-disabled individuals, further enhancing my ability to offer compassionate and individualized support. These experiences have strengthened my skills in personal care, daily assistance, and creating inclusive environments for those in need.
