Hi! I am currently looking for job opportunities before starting nursing school in the fall. I live full-time in Abbotsford and my Father lives in Cloverdale Surrey I spend lots of time out there and I don't mind commuting. To tell you a little about myself, I was born in a loving family of five, plus many foster siblings who have lived with me throughout the years. I have a Novia Scotia Duck Dolling retriever that I love more than anything, she is the kindest dog. I have quite a few hobbies; I am super into running, hiking, rock climbing, swimming, playing guitar, reading, biking, baking, and more, I love trying new things. My biggest attribute is that I am a big people person; I love getting people together and having fun. I often take a car full of siblings and/or their friends on a trip to the beach, the zoo, a museum, or even just down to the park for a basketball game. My older sister is a zookeeper at the Greater Vancouver Zoo and I have found it to be one of my favourite places for day trips! I'm not sure what else to say about myself feel free to message me!
I've had a large variety of childcare work experiences over the years, growing up my mom has taken in many foster children, and so from a very young age, it was my responsibility to help children coming from varieties of difficult situations become comfortable and happy in our home. Starting in my early teen years I did countless amounts of babysitting for my mom, I have experience taking care of all aged children with varieties of needs. I have done care for a houseful of children for week-long periods. I have done respite for kids in my own home and other foster homes as well as my mother's friends who have needed babysitters. Before covid, I volunteered in youth camps run by the foster care ministry as well as tutoring. And recently I was hired by the foster care ministry to provide skin-to-skin contact to an abandoned infant in the NICU, it was a heart-warming opportunity that I learned a lot from. Aside from childcare, I have had a few customer service jobs and light labour jobs, I have my food safe and I will have my First Aid certificate and Basic Rescuer level C complete by the first week of July.
