Hi, I’m Trexie , a passionate and caring professional with 6 years of experience working with children. At 25 years old, I bring a positive attitude, patience, creativity, and a genuine love for helping children learn, grow, and thrive. I am known for building strong, trusting relationships with both children and families while creating safe, engaging, and supportive environments. My strong communication skills, reliability, adaptability, and ability to connect with children of all ages allow me to foster meaningful experiences that encourage confidence, development, and joy. I am enthusiastic, compassionate, and dedicated to making a positive impact in every child’s life, bringing energy, warmth, and professionalism to everything I do.
I have been in child care all my life. My mom was a nanny, and at the age of 14 years old, I was capable of taking care of children alongside my mom. Families that she used to work for allowed me to come along to help with the children. This was the start of my love for children. Going into College, I was 18 years old, I studied Psychology at York University for two years, but I wasn’t in love with it. So while I was in school, I looked into ways I could work with children. During a career day, I found this booth that was offering a volunteer position at an Autism Centre. So I volunteered for about 6 months. I loved it. It was an amazing experience. It was here that I learned how much I wanted to learn about children, and possibly work with children on the spectrum. So I left school, and I transferred to Seneca College to study Child Development. I gained experience in every classroom, working with all ages - Infants, Toddlers, Pre-school, Kindergarten, and School Age. I finished three years at Seneca, and ran into some personal issues, and left school to work. Because of my extensive placement experience from school, I was able to get a job at Discovery Preschool as an Assistant ECE. I was hired specifically to work closely with two children on the spectrum in the Toddler Classroom. I worked here for a year, and when I got a second job, I remained a part timer, supplying when I had free time. I then got a job contract for 4 months at Faith Infant and Early Education Centre. I was hired to be the ECEA in the Infant Classroom. The centre enjoyed having me as an Infant Teacher at their centre, so they offered me a full time spot after my 4 month contract. It was at this centre, that I learned the most about child care and child development. I’ve been able to work with children on the spectrum, and learned about the early stages and signs to look for in the infant years. I worked at this centre from April 2025 - present. I am currently set to leave my position - with my last day being June 12, 2026, to explore new and creative ways I can work with children. From my experience in working in classrooms, I noticed how much I enjoy working closely with children in a 1-1 setting. I prefer to work with up to 3 children at a time, but really enjoy 1-1, so I can focus on the child’s development and really get to know the child. Building a relationship with children is the most important thing for me, aside from their development, I really love to get to know their personalities, what makes them unique, what makes them happy, what they do and don’t like. I really love children. This led me to this platform, hoping to find families that need help and are in need of extra care for their children. I have a special place in my heart for childcare and child development, and would love the opportunity to help children and their families.
