For the past year through my work with Wordswell Association for Community Learning, And the work through placement at Esther Exton Child Care Centre and University of Toronto Child Care Centre on Charles I have gained experience in the field of community development. Working with infant, toddler, preschooler, junior youth and youth alongside their families, I have assisted to develop their power of expression, literacy skills, comprehension, eloquent speech and critical thinking. I have gained intimate knowledge concerning the strengths and capacities of the students as well as barriers and challenges faced by families in low-income communities. I also have experience volunteering with preschool and youth programs in the Dominican Republic, which allowed me to develop skills that are necessary when working with young children and young adults. For instance, I am skilled in implementing early age curriculum in keeping with directives and strategies. My ability to create, administer and take part in different learning environments and activities gives a great chance to students to build up to their fullest potential and attain their learning objectives. Moreover, I am able to participate capably with other teachers and employees to uphold the general well-being of the youth and families.
