Emma B.
I’m a friendly, caring, and outgoing person who genuinely loves being around kids. I grew up as the oldest sibling, so I’ve always naturally taken on a caregiving role, especially with my younger sister. That’s where a lot of my patience and nurturing side comes from.I’m a very active and energetic person, I grew up as a competitive dancer, so I love anything that gets kids moving, whether that’s playing outside, dancing, or just being silly and having fun. I also love cooking and baking and am always trying new recipes, so I’m more than happy to prepare meals or bake with kids as an activity. Through my experience working with children at the City of Brampton, I developed a strong interest in helping kids navigate emotions and behaviour. I really enjoy conflict resolution and working with children who may need a bit of extra patience or support, and I’m confident in staying calm and handling situations in a positive and understanding way. At the same time, I love the fun side of childcare like playing games, doing crafts, singing songs, going to the park, and just creating a happy and engaging environment where kids feel comfortable being themselves. Overall, I’m someone who is reliable, easygoing, and genuinely cares about the children I work with. I want to create a safe, fun, and supportive environment for your kids while also making your life easier wherever I can.
I have several years of hands-on childcare experience in both group and one-on-one settings, working with children ages 4–13. I worked as a Residence Counsellor at Canada’s National Ballet School in Toronto, where I supervised groups of approximately 8–12 children living on-site. I managed daily routines, ensured safety at all times, and even escorted children to medical and off-site appointments. This role required a high level of responsibility, trust, and strong communication with both children and families. As a Camp Leader with the City of Brampton, I led groups of 10–15 children (ages 4–12), planning activities, keeping them engaged, and maintaining a safe and positive environment throughout the day. I also worked as a Gymnastics Coach, teaching children ages 4–12 in smaller groups, focusing on safety, skill development, and building confidence. In addition, I have one-on-one babysitting experience, where I cared full-time for a 6-year-old child over a two-month period. I prepared meals and snacks, took her to the park, helped with reading, and created fun, engaging activities like crafts and imaginative play. Overall, I am very comfortable caring for multiple children at once, maintaining structure and routines, and creating a safe, fun, and supportive environment.
