My name is Mercedes! I’m a passionate and caring individual who adores children. I’m hardworking, reliable and I would love to meet you and your family! I've been working with kids for about as long as I can remember. As soon as I was old enough, I started volunteering at Sunday school and summer camps. I always loved being around the kids and hoped that I could impact them in a positive way. My goal was to be the kind of leader who I wished I’d had when I was a kid. Everyone who knows me knows just how much I adore children, especially the little ones. I care a lot and my hearts desire is to form genuine connections. I'm a hard working, responsible young lady and I'm happy to help out however I can. I love pets and animals of all kind! I also enjoy cooking, so I’d be happy to help with any meal prep. I’m also happy to help with any cleaning or household chores. I've worked with several different families, I’m currently working with a family with special needs. But they won’t be needing my help anymore since their youngest got accepted to daycare. I started working with them full time in March. It’s been a unique job, due to working with disabilities. But the family has been really impressed with how well I’ve adapted to the challenges as they arise. The next part of my description focuses on my previous job from a few years ago. As that’s what I had written on my profile before March. In 2022-23 I worked as a part-time Nanny for a family with two sons, both under the age of two. (The youngest was 9 months when I started). I absolutely adored those boys and it broke my heart when I had to say good bye. But I felt called to go to a ministry school in Toronto for a year. It was a hard decision and sometimes I regret it because I miss the kids. But I’m praying that God will bless me with new opportunities. During my last job, I was responsible for looking after two baby boys three days a week, for 8+ hour shifts. I would take care of meal time, nap time, play time, etc. If the weather permitted, we would go for walks to nearby parks or beaches. Sometimes I would take their dog out with us. The boys were close family friends, but they behaved like brothers, so I often had to remind them to share and play nice. Since I was with that family for a year, I got to see the kids grow up. I felt honoured to be able to be a part of their lives and watch them grow. Sure, it wasn’t for an exceptionally long period, but kids grow so fast at that age. I remember being so proud of them with each milestone they accomplished. A fun fact about me is that I love learning about psychology. One of the topics I often research is early childhood development. I find it fascinating how much of an impact one can make on a child, it is a privilege as well as an important responsibility. My goal is to provide the best care that I can for your child. Encouraging them to grow, while nurturing them and helping foster a sense of safety and independence from a young age. My goal in life is to be the kind of person who I wished was in my life when I was younger. As a young child, I struggled to manage my emotions. I often felt insecure, lonely and misunderstood. I had undiagnosed ADHD and other mental health challenges, which only added to my struggles. Growing up, I was often emotionally neglected. Throughout my life, I’ve worked hard to become who I am today. I’ve gotten lots of counselling and guidance and put it a lot of effort in order to learn to grow in my self worth and identity. Now a days, most people would never guess what my past was like. However, as a result, it’s taught me to be more compassionate. I’m extremely empathetic, especially towards children. I believe that kids should be loved and nurtured, but also given space to grow and learn independence. Life is so often about finding balance, and raising kids is often the same way. I feel blessed when I’m able to be a blessing to others. So I sincerely hope that I’m able to find a family that I will be able to be a blessing to. If you have any questions, I’d be happy to get back to you! I can provide a resume, reference's, record check and answer any other questions upon request! :)

I’m a very active and outdoorsy person who loves spending time with my daughter, exploring the world around us. We enjoy playing at the park, going on daily walks, playing in the snow, skating and in the summer we love camping and swimming. We also love attending school programs and tumbling classes, giving my daughter plenty of opportunities to learn and socialize. While we’re always up for an adventure, I also appreciate relaxing at home, unwinding with movies, and spending quality time with friends and family. Whether we’re out exploring or enjoying a cozy day in, I believe in creating a fun, loving, and engaging environment for kids to thrive in! I have 7+ years of childcare experience, starting with caring for my nieces when they were just toddlers at ages 2 and 4, and continuing as they’ve grown to 8 and 12 years old. My role has evolved from providing in-home care to now driving them to and from school and assisting with their daily routines. Beyond family, I have also babysat many other children as needed, offering flexible and reliable care. My experience with kids goes even further back—growing up, I helped my mom babysit often. I love engaging with kids through playing, outdoor activities, and creative learning, making sure they feel safe, happy, and cared for. As a mom to a 2-year-old daughter, I understand the patience, attentiveness, and warmth that children need. Caring for kids isn’t just something I do—it’s something I truly enjoy

Presently, my family status can be described as quite fortunate. I am currently living with my parents as well as my two siblings, who are both older than me. Our home is filled warmth, and I am grateful for every moment we share together. I am blessed to have a wonderful family, as every one of us shares a unique bond of love, respect, and understanding. It is comforting knowing that after my day ends, I will be heading home to a safe, secure place filled with love and support. As for pastime activities, I have a passionate hobby of biking that I pursue with great enthusiasm. Ever since I discovered the pleasure of riding a bicycle, it has become a great part of my life. There's something incredibly freeing about biking around town, feeling the cool air against my skin. This feeling is amplified most during the quiet, starlit nights. With every passing day, I enjoy my bicycle rides more and more, craving the thrilling speed and exhilarating rush. What might appear as a basic outdoor activity to most has become a liberating escape for me, a source of thrill, or as some might say, a 'fun' night out. The streets become my playground in the moonlight, and every night, I look forward to exploring the different areas of my town, while also enjoying the quiet, peaceful atmosphere that night-time brings. Despite the darkness, the streetlights create a beautiful pattern on the road, and the sound of crickets singing gives me a sense of peace. My hobby in biking is not just about physical exercise; it's about experiencing the city in a unique way, most of all, it's about having fun. I do not have any previous jobs, but I have babysat before and I work well with kids.
