I got married 4 years ago. I live with my husband. I studied business administration and now I’m studying a Diploma Certificate at Fanshawe. I’m from Colombia. Now I’m studying and looking for a part time job. I have experience taking care of children because I did a program a few years ago in the United States. I lived for a year with a family taking care of their kids getting ready to go to school, feeding them, taking them to school or other activities. I really enjoy spending time with kids. I am respectful, helpful and joyful. I enjoy listening music, going for a walk with my dog, cooking and spend time with my family.

I am a very loving nurturing mother of three grown children and three beautiful grandchildren. I raised my children as a single mother at an early age of two for my son. I am very good at multi-tasking and getting things completed in a timely manner. I love to cook and experience/ try new cuisine as I am a foodie and would love to prepare healthy nutritious meals for you and your Family. I live a very healthy lifestyle through eating properly; exercise and balance and think that is important in raising healthy well rounded children. I decided not to return to work when my girls were young and did childcare in my home for 5 years whilst allowing me to stay with my girls. I had the opportunity to work with CAS and Care for a young infant for a year who needed a loving stable environment. I have had several professional jobs during my career path from health care to sales to working with Autism Canada. Business Communication/marketing

I enjoy promoting an atmosphere that fosters creativity, curiosity, safety and respect. I have paid experience working as a nanny, taking care of children, cooking and housekeeping, plus personal experience as a mom and grannie. During the pandemic I provided care and companionship for my elderly mother, and am now pleased to be looking for a new nanny role. Family is very important to me, and I respect that my role as caregiver in your family will be to connect with the children and parents individually while supporting family happiness. I enjoy very good health, love to walk and explore. I also enjoy working with textiles by sewing, knitting and quilting. I'm open to part-time/full-time and live-in/out. If you are a family that is conscientious about continuing to take care re covid exposure that is a plus. I think children need a balance of interesting activities, quiet time, and outdoor time every day! And lot's of continuity between parents and caregivers. My style is to keep parents updated for the day-to-day life of their children, and work with parents so we provide consistent approaches to nurture their children in positive ways. As a lifelong learner myself I think it is important to support children in exploring their curiosity and helping them to develop both thinking and emotional tools that are age-appropriate - so that they can feel confident and interact with their world in a thoughtful, joyous manner. My philosophy is basically that by providing a caring supportive relationship to children, I am also supporting family happiness. The types of responsibilities I've had as a nanny include: direct care for young children daytime/evening/overnight; before/after school care, including extracurricular activities; meal prep and cooking; laundry; light house cleaning; and coordinating with working and work-from-home parents.

Hi there :) My name is Brigitte , a 25 year-old psychology graduate, specifying in Developmental Psychology at Simon Fraser University. I am currently looking for a new nanny position in East Vancouver. I have a niche for working with kids, as I myself love most of the activities and interests they love. I grew up being raised by nannies, so I recognize the importance of having a patient, exciting, interesting, creative, and positive person to take care of your children. I am often described as all of those things, along with "bubbly", enthusiastic, compassionate and empathetic - best known for always having a smile on my face. I have been in the field of childcare for many years now and absolutely adore it. I spend my free time doing art, observing nature, staying active, and trying to find humour wherever I can. I am conscientious of other’s emotions, empathetic, and proactive, so, looking after children has always come naturally. In Ontario, I would often look after a school-aged boy named Marshall who lived close by. I have endless fond memories of acting out pirate scenarios, helping with his homework, talking about superheroes, and discussing the importance of kindness. I am still very close with this family and always make time to visit when I go back. During University, I began caring for twins for 10 hour days, three days per week. I found the job to be extremely fulfilling – my life purpose was to make Henry and Daisy’s childhood as good as it could possibly be. Each day consisted of dance parties, themed art projects, walks to the park, and reading at the library. After graduating, I continued working full-time until the children were old enough for school. I still babysit a few days per month and consider myself to be a part of their beautiful family. I also have past work experience painting full-bedroom murals and freelance graphic design/illustration. I consider myself to be a highly creative person, which comes in handy when planning activities for a day of nannying. Scavenger hunts, alphabet bingo, endless craft ideas, puppet shows, obstacle courses – all of this is totally in my wheelhouse. In my spare time I am also a part-time vocalist - I adore teaching children to sing. In addition, I am a health conscious person who knows the benefits of stretching the body, staying active, and eating properly. This knowledge is crucial to share with children, as practicing it will positively impact their future well-being. I am hoping to find a family who sees the benefit of silliness, being creative, and being open with their emotions. I believe that caregivers must set firm rules and expectations with children, but also be supportive, compassionate, loving, and patient. It would be helpful to be placed with a family who sees the importance of finding this balance. I am open to all housekeeping tasks; I find cleaning to be calming and truly love to help in any way that I can. Thank you for taking a look at my profile, Brigitte Additional Experiences/Qualifications: Volunteer Experience: Musical Theatre Workshops - Kingston, ON: Oct 2012-Feb 2013 - Queen’s University AMS - Elementary School visits to multiple schools; attempting to showcase the talents of children - Conducting 1. 5 hour-long sessions on singing, acting and dance Best Buddies Program - Burnaby, BC: January 2014-Current - Simon Fraser University SFSS Club - Dedicated to enhancing our communities through one-to-one friendships between people with intellectual disabilities and students - Minimum of two hours per week St. Theresa's High School - Midland, Ontario: 2009-2012 - Student Council Vice President - Valedictorian - Legacy Award Queen's University - Kingston, ON: 2012-2013 - Bachelor of Arts - AMS Student Government Vice Principle Simon Fraser University - Burnaby, BC: 2013-2016 - Psychology Major: Developmental Specialized - Completed Study-Abroad in Glasgow, Scotland for the Fall 2015 term

I am an upperclassman at Western University studying psychology with a focus on developmental psychology. I am also a passionate musician and artist, which are two of my favourite skills that I love to share with children in my care. I strive to always treat families with the utmost kindness and respect and to foster healthy and opportunity filled environments for children. Additionally…I’m a pretty good cook and baker and love to share these attributes to families! In my teen years in sunny Florida I looked after many children, toddlers and infants for family date nights and weekends away. Naturally nannying became a profession that I am passionate about. I am enthusiastic about providing ethical, safe and fun childcare. I am Montessori informed and encourage learning through play and exploration of the world children have around them. I am studying psychology at UwO with a focus in developmental psychology, which I use to inform my care.
